Fox Body Prices

I have owned all three different body styles GT, LX (Hatch), and my current fox is my 89' 'black' notch and out of all of them I love my notch the most. I have always liked notch's more just never stumbled across a nice black notch until about two years ago and I can not predict the future, but no time soon will I sell the notch. I am even getting married next year and soon kids to follow, but since I own the notch out right I have told my fiance' that we will not sell the notch and it will sit and only be drivin on weekends when family life starts. I have owned a fox for about ten years now straight and I have seen them go up in price it is balancing off, but in a couple more years they will rise again and then balance off and the cycle will continue.

If worse comes to worse and I don't want to deal with kids looking to buy my car I think I'll probably just donate it to a charitable cause and write it off.

I bought my 88 SSP for $4500 about a year ago. The body is in pretty good shape, no rust or major accident damage just a few dings. The original paint is getting pretty oxidized so it needs a paint job. The interior is in ok shape all the seats are in great shape except the drivers seat, thats a suprise :rlaugh:. It had exhaust, cam and a few other mods but nothing major.

The motor is getting a little tired so I am going to swap the 347 I have in my shop into it and keep and rebuild the original motor. But it will stay looking pretty much stock, except the cowl hood. No roll bar, no welds just a nice fast street car that will see the track every couple of months. If I wanted a track car I would but 4cyl coupe and stuff a big block in it.

One thing to remember is that the last Fox rolled off the line 14 years ago. Since then lots of them have been turned into race cars, beaten on and wrecked. So the really clean ones are becoming kind of rare and will start to command a higher price.

My car is traight but has the normal dings here and there on the body panels and a nice dent on the rear passenger roof area and it could use a new paint job. The front of the hood has a bunch of tiny little star shaped cracks. The car isn't an SSP but considering it hasn't been tampered with other than the aformentioned parts I'm hoping when and if I do sell that I can get a decent price.
