The wife and I spent the weekend up in Mission BC for Mega Ford Weekend. There were just over 100 cars racing in, I think, 7 different classes. All I can say is "Wow!" There was an amazing number of very fast Fox cars. Many of them ran deep into the 10's. Also present were a bunch of Fairlanes and Falcons, several of them being 9 second cars. I found it interesting that there were very few Terminators, maybe 6 or 7.

The show and shine today had some really nice cars and the wife's 96 won best 94 to 04 Mustang.

I took 372 pictures and haven't had time to edit them, but here's a quick sample. I'll try to have more tomorrow.

When this comes up next year, I'd recommend anyone that can go, do. From our house in Edmonds, we were standing trackside 2 hours after we pulled out of our driveway. It took longer than that to get to PR for Pinks last year.

Something else I wanted to throw in there was, as you can see in the pics, there wasn't a huge crowd of people there. You could go to the pits, check out the cars, grab something to eat if you were hungry and still come back to find somewhere to sit in the stands. We were completely amazed by how few people were there. Compare that to the crowds at P.I.R. You could even jump in your car for a quick trip across the freeway for lunch or a run to a parts store if needed. Very cool place! And as he says, the cars were ABSOLUTELY AWESOME!! Put it on your calendar, I know we will! :nice:

SOB!!! I promised my friend I would attend that this year... One of my best friends lives in mission and he was bragging about that to high heavens and I MISSED IT!! I am glad you guys had a good time and I WILL be attending next year guaranteed. Not to mention I love canada anyways. Hope you guys got your fill of Timbits at Tim Hortons accross the street too..:nice:

Glad you guys had a great time. I think this is one that will be on our calendar next year as well. It would be a great time to see some of the relatives too, maybe my grandmother would like to go. She will be 102 in March and lives only 15 minutes form the track.:canada:

Yours was one of my favorite Foxes there. In fact, when we'd hear your car coming up behind the stands to the staging lanes my wife would say "here comes your loud car again." :) It's kind of funny, but I got very few of your car or the Falcon Ranchero that I also really liked. I must have been too busy watching to take pictures.

I do have a series of pics of your car making a pass from 188 through 190-something. If you want to use any of them for your website, feel free. If you'd like higher resolution shots, drop me a PM with your e-mail and I'll be glad to send them.

That's me in the bottom picture blocking your shot of Matthews car! I'm glad you enjoyed yourself and hopefully the track allows us the opportunity to have a race next year. You two guys and the other enthusiastic fans and racers made this a real treat for the group of us who organized it. So far we've heard everybody had a good time and we promise to expand upon that. Many more cool cars should have been there but for whatever reasons weren't.
The fact we could impress everybody with only half of what was actually planned bodes very well for next year when we could see three times that many cars and many of the very fast ones.

Yeah, that car is pretty loud with the open headers. We normally run a full Flowmaster 50 series street exhaust, but I could see the competition was going to be stiff out there so we took it off to save the 48 pounds. I had it in the box of the truck all weekend in case someone complained too much!

I had my share of trouble out there with the fuel pump shutting down and throwing an alternator belt and everything else, but no real fundamental issues and now we've got the winter to freshen it all up for next year.

I'll PM you with an email address for those pics because I would love to get them.
