Driving Mustang 1500 Miles...How Should I Prepare?

1. Change oil and filter
2. Change fuel filter
3. Air up tires and spare
4. Check and see if you have wheel lock key
5. I would bring a full size spare if you have room
6. I would check ALL fluids including your rear end fluid.
7. Check tail/light and headlight bulbs.
8. Bring a cooler full of water, beer, pop, and food!!!!!
9. HAVE FUN!!!

P.S. Radar detector!!!!!!

Man, you would think that this guy is driving straight through the Sahara desert....... Mustang is like any other car and should be looked upon to make the trip without reserve. I'd say belt, some extra tools, can of run flat, do an oil change if it' near the time, check the brake fluid and coolant and replace if it's within 3k miles of needing it, air the tire and be done with it. If you are in a situation in which you might need something, chances are you'll be near a place in which you can get it. Oh yeah, carry cash.... cc doesn't do you much good in some areas.

:stupid:

definitly carry an extra key on you

it has been 2 seperate pulleys doing it. i have had a RR 3.4 and 3.2 and both ruin belts like crazy.

its not the pulley itself doing it. its the pulley having so much grip that there is so much slack between the alt and PS pump that it jumps off the PS pump and eats the belts.

i need a idler between the alt and PS and it should be fine

=] Bring a full size tire and carry the spare.

You ever got a flat tire, than lucked out and got another flat tire while driving on the spare donut? LOL. Well, i would bring a spare and full since im paranoid like that.

*knock on wood*

Hey guys, just letting you know I made it okay, no problems AT ALL. I drove it in 36 hours from start to finish, but time on the road was between 21 and 22 hours.

Why are you coming up to Toronto? It's a nice place. If you've never been, you'll like it. Come down to Ottawa while you're at it. :D
I'm working up here. My business partners are paying for my first year of living. Before moving here, I visited for about 2 weeks last year, and from July 15 to August 15 here in 2007.

Just curious, but how far is Ottawa?

Good! I'm glad you like it. Temperature wise ... it's starting to cool down now, unfortunately.

Ottawa is about 4.5 - 5 hours away from Toronto.
