I have a reman from auto zone and I have never noticed this before. When I had the dizzy installed, and with the key on, as I rotated the dizzy to advance or retard the timing (with engine off) the fuel pump would click on and off.. I can hear it click from that box by the overflow tank, and then can hear the fuel pump starting and stopping. Is this normal?

Yep, We have a prime-out. Then afterwards, the only way the pump kicks back on is when it receives a PIP signal.

The dirty way of testing a used dizzy is to connect to spare dizzy to the electrical connector in your car (with the dizzy just sitting on top of the engine). Then turn the key on and then turn the shaft. If you hear buzzing, the PIP would seem to work (at that time anyhow. It might not once hot, etc).
