LOW 12's with bolt ons???

update:
12.15 @ 112.8 N/A stock longblock auto
non gutted 3530# on the line pump gas 93octane
it's all in the fine tuning and getting the power to the ground ....and you need decent weather. last week i had a DA of 800ft. so it was a good day but we can see DA's as low as -1000 here on the east coast so at some point this fall i'll go 11.99 or quicker just ?

a fella in the Mustang Club I frequent (http://www.southfloridastangs.net) has an 05 that pulled a 12.6 N/A with simple bolt-ons. To me, it's amazing what he got out of this car with so few mods. I almost feel like I'm forgetting a mod he has but this is what I remember from talking to him...

What he's got:
CAI
SCT Tune
X-Pipe
Flowmaster Axle-Back
4.10's
Hurst Shifter of some sort

STOCK SUSPENSION & NO WEIGHT REDUCTION!!!

His times

Best run 1/4 mile:
60ft-1.710
12.625 secs@ 108.05mph on M/T E.T. Streets

Best run 1/4 Mile:
60ft-1.999
13.052 secs@ 108.90mph on Nittos D/R

My goal is to get as close to that as possible if not beat that now haha. I have the same mods basically (different companies but whatever) and I pulled a 12.9 out of mine with stock gears, o/r h pipe, stock mufflers, cai, "canned" 91 tune from c&n, and the stock 235 pirelli's....track is open tomorrow...hmmm

do a search with my screen name and 12.46 and you should find it.

I believe the performance mods were as follows on a fully optioned (except for Shaker 1000 and side air bags) full weight car with a dynamatted interior.
It also was lowered on Steeda Sport Springs with full roadrace suspension (stock shocks at the time). This is running stock wheels all around.

Stock 13.65
C&L Street & Diablo canned 93 octane tune 13.25
BFG D/R 275 40 17" 12.95
Steeda U/D pulleys 12.85
JBA Longtube Headers and Catted H-Pipe 12.69 no retune for the exhaust
4.10 gears 12.46

I never did CMRC delete plates on the car since I intended to install a blower.
I only installed the Centerforce D/F clutch and Fidanza aluminum flywheel in preparation for the blower mid summer. The driveshaft was done after the blower install also.

Yes I had good weather

There are a lot of good ideas here. Stock GT's run 13.8-13.9 between 100-101 mph. That mph is good for a low low low 13. Being these cars are pigs out of the whole the best place to start is gears, 4.10 manual, 3.73 auto. A good CAI with a tune, underdrive pulley kit, CMCV delete plates. With good air and traction that should get you into high 12's. Slicks and maybe fine tune the PCM on a dyno possible low 12's, being exhaust gives you almost no power when your on motor alone I would'nt invest in it until you see what the other stuff does for you. Good luck. :flag:

brother tell me what i am doing wrong because i am trapping 108 at 13.2. how can 101 get me in the low 13's. you are doing something right.

With a 108mph trap speed, you're either taking the longest granny shift on record, or your 60ft times really suck. I'm going to guess that later. With that trap speed you should be running high-12's easy.
