I've been lurking, reading, searching, and evaluating the S197 mustang. I'm thinking of getting rid of two cars for one. A new mustang is a possible candidate. I'd like to get some feedback from all of you daily mustang drivers.

1. I'd like to know how the car is holding up to the daily grind?

2. I'd also like to know how many miles year to date?

3. Are all your tsb's successfully fixed by the dealer?

4. Which tsbs are you still dealing with?

5. Manufactured year of your car.

6. Finally, do any of you have baby seats riding in back?

Sorry I have quite a few questions but the TSB list for this car gets me worried. I've already been through another car that disappointed me badly by taking a risk that I wouldn't have the mechanical problems it already showed on its tsb list. Boy was I wrong. Now I can't make that kind of mistake. So I appreciate your feedback.
:nice:

#1-Excellent:nice:
#2-28K+ miles since Aug 29, 06(8.3 when new)
#3-N/A(rocker arm was bent-fixed under 5K miles-that was only issue)
#4-N/A
#5-'06
#6-5 year old son rides with me. Cramped when I have a passenger and son,
but doable.

I've been totally satisfied with my pony (V6). And would definitely buy another.

Nothing else I've ever owned has garnered as many :nice: as the Mustang!

The trunk is huge... can fit well over $400 in groceries, and $1200 in XMAS gifts (don't ask)...

Handles well, is built solidly, nice colors, lots of available upgrades...

Of course, I also have an F150 4x4 for those REALLY bad days (24" of snow).

Or I'll just throw another log on the fire and call in sick.

SOHC

PS: Not bad for 60,000 miles?

1. I'd like to know how the car is holding up to the daily grind?
A: Awesome. No problems using it as a daily driver even in the winter (I drove around upstate NY all last winter in some really bad weather on the stock tires and it was fine). Visibility isn't as great as say a family sedan, but it's not bad either. Only thing is this car (the GT with a stick anyway) likes to be driven fast. Be prepared to check your speedo often because most of the time you'll think you're doing the speed limit in a 35 but you're really doing 20 over. As for wear and tear there's some scratches and small paint chips on the front bumper, other than that it's been great.

2. I'd also like to know how many miles year to date?
A: A little over 16,000 since the end of last December when I bought her.

3. Are all your tsb's successfully fixed by the dealer?
A: The ones that applied to my car. There is however a newly developed rattle from the exhaust area when the engine is cold that the dealer nor I have been able to figure out yet.

4. Which tsbs are you still dealing with?
A: None, except rattle, not sure if it's a TSB or not though.

5. Manufactured year of your car.
A: 2007

6. Finally, do any of you have baby seats riding in back?
A: Nope.

1. I'd like to know how the car is holding up to the daily grind?
A. My daily driver and weekend drag racer. Holding up great and still looks/drives like a new car.

2. I'd also like to know how many miles year to date?
A. 8,000 miles (it's a 2007 GT).

3. Are all your tsb's successfully fixed by the dealer?
A. Yes. Only one problem with my car - noisy differential under slow speed turns. Fixed while I had 4.10 gears installed.

4. Which tsbs are you still dealing with?
A. None - car is awesome.

5. Manufactured year of your car.
A. 9/2006. I bought it new in 10/2006.

6. Finally, do any of you have baby seats riding in back?
A. I have two teenage daughters (14 & 15) who fit much better in this car than my 2000 Mustang GT and 2003 Mach 1.

I've owned 6 Mustangs (2 GT's, 2 Mach 1's, a 5.0L Fox Body, and a 4cyl Fox Body). This 2007 is by far the best one in most every respect.

It's good to hear so far that all of your' first hand experiences have been good, if not great! I currently own a completely stock 89 lx 5.0 hatchback 25th anniversary with 88k miles. I don't drive it much because I haven't had time to fix the blown head gaskets and oil pan gasket. When I do drive it, the car feels like what I should be driving everyday.

My first days of driving were with an 84 GT 5.0 with fuel injection. I then moved onto an 89 lx 5.0. After that, a 92 lx 5.0 which I finished with in 1994. Since then, last year I picked up the 89 lx I mentioned above.

I like to do track days at the local race tracks. However, I plan to prep the 89 lx for that. Somehow I think I'll be setting up a new mustang for it too.

Either way, I don't want to take the thread off topic with my personal posessions. I'd like more testimonials from other stang owners.

Thanks again....

This is my 4th V8 Stang and by far the best in looks, comfort, handling and power. Previous ones in order were '92 LX 5.0 hatchback(5 spd, gutted factory H pipe, Flowmasters, Centerforce clutch), '95 GT(auto, shift kit, Flowmasters) and '00 GT(5 spd, Flowmasters and Eibach Sportlines).
The '06 is my DD back and forth to work 62 miles/day. My back and forth to g/f's house which is over 140 miles roundtrip and I do that 2-3 times/week. I get very decent MPG considering my mods. I can agree on the large size of the trunk, BUT ever since they got away from the Fox hatchbacks, you can't get big sized items into the trunk due to the tail light assemblies taking up a big chunk of the entry way:shrug: I love my S197:D

Being we just purchased our '07 Vert, I cannot answer most of your questions. On the flip of that, I do drive it to work nearly every day. It is a blast. Getting 24 - 25 mpg when I drive it proper, 19 - 22 when playing hard. Speed is had to keep it down, cruise works great. Seats are good for the distance. Handles mountain drives great. Got around the large items in the trunk by dropping the top, place item in back seat, put top up.... People do look at me funny when we do that.

By the way, my other daily driver is our '66. Heck of a choice to make each morning......

1. I'd like to know how the car is holding up to the daily grind?

Great. I use it for work, year round. I have driven in Snow storms, on black ice, in the rain and am quite impressed on how well the car handles.

2. I'd also like to know how many miles year to date?

I have 35000 miles on her.

3. Are all your tsb's successfully fixed by the dealer?

yep, I had the dash rattle and the E-Brake freezing problems which were repaired promptly.

4. Which tsbs are you still dealing with?

None

5. Manufactured year of your car.

6. Finally, do any of you have baby seats riding in back?

nope but i regularily ride with 3 in the car. I'm 6'2" so I seldom have any one behind me when I drive, although i have had 3 adults with me for short trips.

3. Are all your tsb's successfully fixed by the dealer?
Haven't had any

4. Which tsbs are you still dealing with?
N/A

5. Manufactured year of your car.

6. Finally, do any of you have baby seats riding in back?
No, but my granddaughter has a red powerwheels Stang of her own!

This is my third Mustang Convertible. Others were a 95 GT and a 96 Cobra. This car is hands down better than either of the others. With a performance tune the engine performance is as good as, if not better than the 32 valve DOHC engine in the Cobra. This car has a much more solid feeling overall than either of the previous convertibles.

1. I'd like to know how the car is holding up to the daily grind?

Great so far as I drive 100+ miles each day

2. I'd also like to know how many miles year to date?

Closing in on 8300 and bought 8 weeks ago, had 3 when I got it :nonono:

3. Are all your tsb's successfully fixed by the dealer? I haven't had any

4. Which tsbs are you still dealing with? Zero

5. Manufactured year of your car. 2/07

6. Finally, do any of you have baby seats riding in back? I have had my little 18 mo nephew with his car seat in the back and it wasn't that bad at all, I had to slide up a hair as I didn't want his feet touching, kinda funny because I started the car and he went "VROOOOM VROOOOM!!"
