Heck yeah!! Do it man! That list sounds perfect. That will be a car worth some dough when your done, but don't sell it. I am building another notch to keep so I can have two. I figure if you can afford to build, you can afford to keep it! Keep us updated man...good luck!!
 
I really like the bullitt concept, and I think that gas cap would look siick. If you do it though, make sure you do it right and remove and smooth the square hole before putting that cap on. Ive seen people buy stick-on caps like that and put it over the original and it looks like pure ass. Beautiful 65 tho man, nice save on that car.
 
I'd look into finding the real Torque Thrusts instead of the Ford Bullitt wheels, and look for the magnesium finish instead of painted (if you really wanna go nuts on details). Then a Cobra grill insert is gonna be needed to give it some kind of open grill look to match the original car, and probably the Cobra heat extractor style hood, and of course the Bullitt gas door. Personally i'd probably go with 16'' magnesium Torque Thrusts just to give it a more musclecar look, but i'm sure i'm alone on that idea since everyone wants bigger wheels these days.

Here's a shot of the interior with the manual tranny and new console in place. There is still a LOT of work to do in the cabin, but it's a starting place. I have a leather shift boot on the way and several other "detail" parts I am going to install. Still trying to put the final ideas on paper before I commit to anything. I will try to photoshop a mock up of the final design at some point.

Okay, I have already made the statement concerning it and the rendering shows that I have always intended to have the heat extractor hood on the car. Why do people keep making that suggestion like it's a new idea?

As for the Cobra grill insert, no thanks. No mater how many times I see them on a car, they still look like an afterthough add-on. (No offense to anyone who has this mod, it's just not my thing).

Hey....just thinking outloud. Also not to burst your bubble but it's not exactly a new idea...why do you think you're getting all the same suggestions over and over? Nobody's made it happen yet so maybe you'll be the first.

You're not raining on my parade. I'm sure the idea has popped into a lot of people's minds, but like you said, I've yet to see the idea in a finished project.

I'm just asking people to read the thread before posting, that is all.
 
We'll see how long that lasts! I figure if I do the car right, clones will begin popping up all over the place within a year. heck, I bet someone saw this post and started theirs already!:bang:

Oh, well. A lot of the comment/suggestions in this thread are already in the plans, along with a few others. Here is a list of the major stuff that will be going into the car. I am sure I have forgotten stuff, but you can get the general idea:

-Custom “retro-look” gauge overlays
-Satin silver “Bullitt” accents (i.e. shift knob, door lock plungers, etc.
-TMI Products “Mach 1” black leather seat upholstery w/custom “Bullitt 5.0” stitching
-Round “Bullitt” gas cap door
-Cervini’s “Heat Extractor” hood
-Bullitt brake upgrades including 5-lug swap
-17x9/17x10.5 “Bullitt” wheels
-“BULLITT” emblem on the left rear deck lid.
-Tubular k-member w/ front coil-overs
-Griggs “street performance” rear suspension w/coil overs




I would scratch out the heat extractor hood and go with a shaker set up, i saw somehwhere in a muscle mustang and fast fords that somebody had an shaker set up for the foxbody.

If you dont, it would be like having $999,999,999 instead of 1 million, know what i mean,
