Just curious what kind of hp #'s it took for you to get into the 10's. How much boost did you have to run? I have a friend with an '03 Cobra that is trying to accomplish this. Also, did you do it with the IRS or with straight axle? What gearing are you running? 3.55's or steeper?

Thanks in advance for your help and/or advice!

Edit: Sorry mods if this is in the wrong forum!

This is more of a "Talk" item than tech so I'm going to move it.

As for your question there's a guy named Almo who's run a validated 11.01@126 with his '03 Cobra. It's a little lighter than stock because he's done some extensive weight reduction mods. I believe it's around 3080 lbs or so. He also runs a straight axle instead of the IRS. He also runs an aftermarket clutch, slicks, and 3.73's. He is however still running stock boost/stock pulleys and the car puts down approximately 440RWHP. He did have one run in the 10's, 10.88 I believe, but he's not claiming it until he can back it up.

You can read some stuff about his car and achievements if you do a search on his name "Almo".

Well, I don't think he's wanting to strip down the car in order to run 10's!:D Maybe a rear seat delete, but not much more than that. Slicks for sure, but wants to keep the IRS and build it up. He's planning on doing a pulley change and full exhaust in the near future.

What kind of #'s did you end up with UM when you did the pulley swap? I remember seeing your post in banana hammock, but can't remember the #'s. What is the "magical donut"?

I ended up with 465/461 after my 2.93 install. The magical velocity donut is just a joke. It pertains to the inner velocity bell that comes with the K&N FIPK. When that CAI first came out for the Cobra many of us were seeing RWHP gains of almost 20RWHP from this CAI alone. We attributed the gains to the "Magical Velocity Donut".

585 rwhp to run 10.92 at 131.5 with a 1.76 60ft. I could have done it with less power but getting my 60fts down lower is a bit tough. My race weight is 3815 which is close to a 03/04 Cobras with a 180lb driver.

I am not sure if Al Papito aka Boss330 is on here or not but he is in the mid 9's with a 5.4 4V Naturally Aspirated 97 Cobra.

I also know JIMSSVT ran high 10's on a stock shortblock with heads/cams and bolt ons in his 98 Cobra.
