Randy, can you give me some info on the Ford Racing part number above? I can't find any details on them. I was wondering if they would be an alternative to ARP head bolts. I plan on running upwards of 14+ lbs of boost on a 10:1 compression forged longblock with Romeo PI heads. Are ARP's overkill? Would the bolts above do the job? Should I play it safe and stick with ARP?

Anyone else want to comment?

thats just a stamping #...the actual part # for Romeo head bolts is 5R3Z-6065-AA. now, wth the amount of boost your making, I'd go wth ARP head stud kit....... Im not even sure ARP makes head bolts for modulars  ..............and even if they did, I'd still go wth studs as studs provide a much better clamping load than bolts......

I'll answer my own question after doing a little reading... I'm forgetting about the Ford Racing bolts that I listed the part number for above. I've read that head studs are stronger than bolts and studs make it easier to remove the heads later. I'm just going to stay on track with my orignal plans for the ARP studs.

Thanks,
Michael

You beat me to it! Thanks for the help anyway Randy.

never a problem:nice: and just an FYI........ just because those bolts came from "Ford Racing" doesn't meen squat:nonono: they ARE just Regular-Old- Common-Everyday-Oem Ford Romeo head bolts:rolleyes: nothing special about them......

P.S. just make sure you cycle the ARP studs 4 or 5 times before final TQ'ing

is there something wrong w/ the FRPP provided bolts in a head changing kit?

N/A will be no problem, except for the fact that they are TTY.

Boost, go with ARP studs, assuming you can still install the heads with the engine in the car.

ARP's are not overkill, especially with 14+ lbs of boost. Do it right the first time, or don't do it at all.

thanks randy! i have seen some on ebay for good prices, but not sure exactly what kit i need. also would like to have them overnighted if i need to so ebay is not the right place.
