Finally got some extra $ for my next mod......
I thinking about improving my sound, I have weld in magnaflows now
and want a noticable increase in volumn and tone.
A. I dont want to lose any low end torque as I rarley hit high rpms anyway.
B. Dont want to smell unburned gas
C. Dont want to set off alarms and pi$$ off the neighbors.

What catted midpipes would fall under these specs.....
Can you even get a good sound with cats.......
Magnaflow X w/cats
UPR X w/cats
what else. ???

Yeah, there pipes are interchangable. The cats are clamped on so if you want to change to an o/r you just get there "race pipes", that's what they call them. I believe the older ones are welded though, so you can not do it so easily.

EDIT: I just looked on there site and did not see the race pipes that they use to sell. . Still says you can do it though

Yeah, i think you are right. They look like a clamp design, forgot i only welded up the side pipe stuff and not the mid-pipe. Most race pipes are just piping that needs to be welded in tho, right? I think i'd need to bring it to an exhaust shop and have some like 10" piping that clamps in like the cats. Having interchangeable cat- to o/r piping would be awesome.

I know they use to sell the race pipes or straight pipes,(same thing) on there site. They were the exact size of the cats so you can do the swap fairly easy. Just like how there mufflers are.
but if you can't get them than you can just go to a shop and get some made. Be the same thing.

SLP quit selling the Race Pipes but it was just 2 straight pieces of pipe, you can get that somewhere very easily.

Would there be a considerable difference in sound between the SLP mid and say, a Magna mid?
I'm trying to find something for my Packs.

I've got the Bassani SS Catted X with my Magnapacks. It sounds damn mean. I think it sounds even better than a Magnaflow catted X that my friend had on his Mach 1. I have no idea about the SLP stuff. I've heard afew Mustangs with SLP on them and I thought it sounded like ass.

you're thinking of SLP catbacks, SLP mid pipes and headers don't resemble the harshness of LM's so they are very different and are still high quality. Magnaflow and SLP x's sound pretty similar actually the have more of a lower tone untill you get into high rpms where they kinda wail like most X's. Bassani's are a very nice choice too, a lil more raspyness earlier i think - just a different sound. They are often more expensive tho.

Yeah, I've been considering Bassani as it has a very rough and badass sound to it. But, I kind of like the exotic sound the Magnaflow gives to it.

On the subject of the MRT H, I do like it but I don't feel the H-pipe has a sharpness I like with the X-pipes.

Bassani Catted X-Pipe rpmoutlet.com i just bought mine wit cats for 372.00 shipped.

I had them installed wit my borla ss catback, and its soo ****in nice, and u without a doubt will notice a power increase. easillllllllllllllllly

BASSANI FTW!

i have the slp catted x and their long tubes. i think it is a very quality set up. it sounds good. it does give the more exotic sound rather then the muscle car sound. i too have it paired up with the magna flow catback. i think that is really where the exotic sound cones from.

it does hang low, but it was simple to change up the set up once i decided to do l/t's.

i cant believe that slp dont sell the race pipes anymore....wonder why?
