FYI-> Big Trouble at VT Engines~!!

I have for years been recommending that people do not deal with VT. They have always outsourced a lot of work and from I what I have personally seen from VT, it was not quality work. Now you are seeing exactly what happens with VT and why you shouldn't deal with them. I don't feel one bit sorry for VT as this mess was brought on completely by themselves and no one else...

i have been talking to jim online....apparently there is no vt. there is just jim and and an owner named chris. scott apparently quit already. jim says he is looking for another job.

i thought they were part ownership too....this is really ****ed up.

i dont know go because if it has gotten to this point vt must have no money.

I think many need to remain more objective until something becomes of this, good or bad.

No need to speculate just yet...

There are going to be mistakes made. The laws of probability at work...

I just finally got my engine picked up last weekend.. I could tell something really fishy was going on..

Took them twelve weeks and when I went to pick it up I was told by the shop they wouldn't let me have it because it wasn't paid for yet.. I had to go back and forth between Scott, Scott at the shop, and the shop's owner Paul to get my engine released.. And they put in the wrong cams too.. Stage 2 blower instead of stage 3..

I didn't care though.. I just wanted my stuff out of there while I could get it.. Once I got it arranged that they would let my engine go I drove 3 hours and was there the next morning..

Jim just said he was quiting today so there will be no one there now. Im glad I bought my stuff last year. I had everything checked out and it was a quality parts. I also got moy motor with is 6-8 weeks if I remember right and that was even during Christmas so this wasn't going on last year.

What it all boils down to is they were bought out... then the owner seperated VT Engines Sales and VTCED (Engine Builders) and now money is getting to VTCED so they aren't releasing the motors that are built.

I know with a lot of people it was VT or nothing.

But how I looked at it was MMR had a similar product for less. I'm now glad I gave them a chance when I bought my shortblock.

But whomever was building VT shortblocks did a good job. But being a middle man explains why their prices were a little higher.

Wow, i just read that entire thing...lol
I have done several deals with Scott/Jim and they were great to me and i wish them luck...

Gatti i hope you get your money back!!! Have you tried contacting your credit card company or paypal to get a refund/chargeback yet?

I wouldn't go that far. I am amazed that Scotty cared for his customers so much he gave 40k of his own money to the company to keep his customers and make sure they got their engines hoping the owner would work things out. That shows how he really loved this group.

thanks droptop!!! me too!!

i will be contacting paypay shortly to find out about a charge back. i dont know because it was about a year ago the payment was actually made. shouldnt matter though, i never recieved what i paid for. people cant just steal other peoples money. iacting a lawyer in a couple of days too. if the guy has nothing left i might be screwed but if he does clamis bankruptcy, dont they pay off the debts owed?

that will take forever though....we will see.

either way my build will not be happening for a while now, that was all the money i had including saving everything plus my tax returns....

Paypal won't give you guys anything after 90 days from purchase, believe me I know this all to well from a expereince about 6 months ago on there. But if you used a Credit or Debit card or even a bank account to fund the transaction thru paypal contact that institution with all the transactions and dates and they will work on getting you a chargeback.
