FYI-> Big Trouble at VT Engines~!!

I wouldn't go that far. I am amazed that Scotty cared for his customers so much he gave 40k of his own money to the company to keep his customers and make sure they got their engines hoping the owner would work things out. That shows how he really loved this group.

They did do some good things but the responsible thing to do would be to stop taking orders when the ship is sinking. A lot of people got screwed because of that alone.

You are correct, but you can't blame them. They have gone above and beyond to help people especially when they were not getting a paycheck, yet forking over 40 grand of his own money to pay for customers parts/engines,etc. That says a lot about their character.
I am sure there is a lot that we still don't know.

I think you have to consider the wait time for builds, mine was 2-3 months but that was 2 years ago, about a year ago builds were taking more than 6 months. So if you factor in the last 2 months the stuff went right down the tubes there's nothing jim or scott could've done for orders already placed before that 2 month period

What I don't understand is how I placed a build order at the beginning of August and got the engine last weekend when some people have been waiting since January and now may not get anything.

I had issues when I went to pick up the engine, VTCED wouldn't let me have it because VT Engines hadn't paid for it yet. But - between Scott, VTCED's owner, and myself we managed to get everything sorted out and I did get my engine.. I think I was one of, if not, the last person to get their build..

I just got the car back together last night and it's running wonderfully so far... :nice:

Really depends what you're getting, i remember when people wanted the billet pump gears and took an extra 3 months since they were on back order, same with head/cam packages added to their big bore shortblock build

Good to know your car is running great :nice:

Yeah that will be the only way to do it, Paypal is a huge scam. There are many write-ups on the internet about people getting screwed over by them....shady organization if you ask me.
+1 on paypal sucking donkey balls, they screwed me out of ~$500

basically someone paid me (non ebay goods) and then 2 months later i see a negative amount in paypal. i call them and they say that the other partie has cancled the transaction on the CC and paypal took the $$ out of my account :fuss:

fought with them for 4-5 months and ended up paying paypal like ~120 so they wouldnt put a ding on my credit report

not to mention they take 4% of all transactions

Yes you can blame them...

What about the lies told to customers? I am referring to the one that was told by VT that his motor was shipped to the wrong address but in reality never left VTCED. The fact that they were lying to customers as well as trying to hide the situation is deceitful and that does go against their character and you can blame them for that...

I am talking about the ENTIRE PROBLEM being put on Jim and Scott. It is not all their fault, they are not VT Engines. I bet some of you all would still ****** if they jumped ship back in April leaving 27 people out to hang, yet they stayed and only 8 engine's out of 49 are still there.

How do we know that they lied? Who is to say that VTCED didn't screwed up the shipping and lied to them? It is not like Scott and Jim worked next to them.

I read the entire 70+ pages at ModularFords. I do know that one of the 8 people with motors left was told by Jim or Scott that his motor was shipped to the wrong address and is being shipped back. That person questioned what they were told by Jim or Scott in that thread. Jim nor Scott to this time have addressed that person's question.

VTCED has said that this motor is ready but has not been paid for. One of the other 8 people with outstanding motors contacted VTCED, I believe Adrenln and he and was told no motor was shipped to the wrong address, and no motor has been shipped. That was posted in that thread. Therefore we can say for a fact that this person was lied to by Jim or Scott at VT about his motor being shipped to the wrong address. I am not going through that 70+ pages to find this info again.

Yes, lets believe VTCED. Afterall they are 100% correct right?

Like others on MF, and MD have said, you seem to have a personal grudge towards Scott and Jim.

I didn't say VTCED is 100% correct, I am saying that Scott and Jim ignored that customer's question regarding what he was told by them. Another customer verified what he was told as incorrect. You don't have to take a word VTCED has said as correct, all you need is the 2 customer's words to prove that Jim or Scott lied.

Are you now going to suggest that these 2 customers are lying?

For the record, I haven't not posted on Modular Fords regarding this.

yes, im the customer that was told my block was shipped to the wrong address and was being sent back to them and being shipped out that same it got back to them. this was said by scott. i called vtced and they said the engine was never shipped and was sitting right in front of him waiting for payment from vt so he could ship it.

either scott or jim (i forget which) addressed me im, and stated that that is only what vtced was telling them.....why vtced would do such a thing i dont know?

however, someone was lying for sure and i dont know who it was.

all i know is if vt is has nothing left i have no engine and no money.

Haha, another SD Wheeler comes out of the woodwork.

Long time no see Winters :)

I actually have DTA "P & P" heads on my car to this day. I'm one of the few who got them. Shortly after DTA went bellyup, my auto shop (Jade Performance) did also.

Hey guys, its good to see both of you all around as well. I had to come back for more. Damn DTA, Erson regrind cams, ground improperly.

MRVAX, glad those heads are still working. I havent run into Shannon in a long time, so havent had a chance to see what he is up to. Last I heard he was winning races and championships in FFW or NMRA(not sure) with a rented v6 2005 mustang. lol.

I just hope that VT doesnt go down the same road, but after reading here and the endless post on those "other forums", it looks like it already has. I feel bad for those involved. I know how hard we work to persue a passion of modding our cars, and how long we wait to acquire what we want, and incidents like this just can make you want to just get rid of your car. At least, they did for my last one.

Its always good to see People like Tim being so successful. He was one of the guys that was around from the begginning of stangnet, always extremely kind. We all followed then amazing success of his 2v build on his old car. He always answered our questions and was very helpfull. I had a few conversations over the phone years ago, though Im sure he doesnt remember, and he always was a strait shooter. It would be nice if we could say the same for the rest of the industry.

The only thing I know is my own personal experience with VT when I ordered my cams. They were on major backorder, but they consistently updated me and didn't take my money until the cams shipped. I have an AWESOME experience with VT, and this makes me very sad to see :(

Have you been able to get ahold of the owner of VT yet? Does Scott or Jim answer you in PM still? If so you should find out if VT has any parts in stock and contact a lawyer and make a claim to their product to try and recover some of your losses...If they do have some parts in stock i'd drive there and load up :)

Then i would go beat the crap out of the owner

i guess im out 3500 bucks cause i got the oil pan. its just a shame that my perfect stroker block is going to rot away on some shops floor. well, and ofcourse the fact that im out the money and have to start the saving all over agian for the same thing i already bought.
