I was thinking of doing the Jaguar conversion. I have a 93 XJ6 in my JY with a center wiper. I was thinking of take the wiper motor and trans and cowl and putting it all in my car. What do you think?

This is the mounting (except carbed and no turbo stuff):

Call me crazy but i look at a car with no wipers and i just see something missing....i prefer very nice/clean/new stock style wipers...no Gillette Mach 1 Turbo multiblade carbon fiber neon stupid looking wipers...if you take the stock arms and respray them a satin black and put them on so they're not sticking half way up the window, they look "right" to me.

i like that one.

i got rid of all my wiper stuff. i check the weather before im gonna take the car out. if its gonna rain... i dont take it out. that simple. not only because i dont have wipers tho, my car has t-tops and they leak all over the place, and i dont have an air cleaner on my carb (theres just not enough room lol) and i run slicks. all in all the car is not meant for the rain.

Being that we only see *MAYBE* 15 days of rain per year here in the Phoenix area, having wipers on your car year-round winds up being a waste of money - the sun dry-rots them after you've only gotten a chance to really use them four or five times. Keeping them in the trunk or back seat or wherever is out of the way not only makes them last longer, but also cleans up the view from the driver's seat. I like having that extra 2" or so of open viewing area when I'm driving, especially since the windscreen on a Fox isn't all that big to begin with.

Buy a pair of billet aluminum (or chrome) wiper delete knobs from UPR (or whoever else sells 'em) and poke 'em on there, if you feel that it has the "something's missing" look going on. I scored mine for cheap at the last World Ford Challenge that I went to, for something like $20. :nice:

I gave my set of UPR wiper delete knobs to Frankenstang to keep on the notch, but I'm thinking of getting another set to put on my '86 GT 'vert, since it's pretty much a fair-weather-ONLY kind of car (plus the fact that the top is so horrible that I intend to just roll it down once in the future, snap the parade boot over it, and leave it like that all year, and just keep it garaged.

Man I would hate to be afraid of rain with my car. I drive it for a week to and from South Carolina (from CT is about 800-850 miles) for Mustang week, and for multiple weekend events where your are going to hit rain without question. I can't imagine building a car that I couldn't drive at these events because there is a chance of rain. I have left for car shows in the rain, have hit rain on the way to some of the best racing days I have had, and have been suprised by rain that was not on the radar. One time caught without wipers and had to pull over and grab one from a friend.
