I've had both and personally I love the H pipe much more. It's more quiet but has a much better tone IMO. The X pipe has a real high raspy sound that to me, sounds like noise instead of power.

Here's a clip of the setup I had. It was Mac Flowpaths and an o/r prochamber. The Thunders should sound pretty close to the Flowpaths.....

The H will probably sound a bit different from a prochamber, but it'd be closer to that deep sound than an X.

clicky

I've had both an X-pipe (BBK) and an H-pipie (MRT) on my car and can say that the H-pipe sounded 100 times better. I did like the sound of an X-pipe when accelerating quickly, but overall the H-pipe sounds better. It's much deeper sounding, and exactly what I Mustang should sound like. My vote: H-PIPE!

You going more for sound or performance? The H will sound like more of a muscle car and an X will sound like a nascar. Performance wise, the H will net you more power down low and the X will net you more power up high. People who get the X is because it seems to makes a little more power over the H, but on sound preference the H seems to be the more popular one. Basically it boils down to your preference, H or X both are good and have it's pro's and con's. If your not sure what to get, the pro-chamber is a fine choice because it's in between an H and an X. Good Luck and let us know how it turns out.

Go X-PIPE, BASSANI X FTWWWWWW!!!!!! The H Will give you more of a deeper sound, but you will see more power gains throughout with the X PIPE. It also depends on your catback. If your gonna go American Thunder go H Pipe, it will fit.

What you should do is Sell that American Thunder and go Borla or Bassani.

I have a Bassani X Pipe to Borla catback. I didnt want mine to be too loud, cause theres crazy amounts of cops in NY. But when i get on it, it sounds like a beast, nascar style, not like just a LOUD POS. Its a more aggressive tone.

My friend has the complete opposite, Mac Flowpath catbacks to Mac Prochamber, and I like that too, its more personal preference. And also how much money you have to work with.

1-Pro Chamber : Prolly has the best overall sound
2-H-pipe :I have one with American Thunders and love the sound:nice:
3-X-pipe : Good high end power but sound to raspy IMO

+1 on the bassani x. I just got mine last week and was thinking I might not
like the sound, but I love it. Matched up with my welded in Magnaflows it
sounds really deep at idle and low rpm, but when you get on it the sound
changes to a mean growl x sound, not that raspy at all. I have the cats
on now but it comes with interchangable o/r pipes and clamps.
I actually feel more tourqe and hp at low and high rpms. I may be
a bit optimistic but I think I gained at least 10hp if not more.
