O3 Cobra Compression test

I've had an 01 cobra for about 6 years and have enjoyed it. I'm about to sell it and get an 03 cobra with 30,000 miles on it.

I did a compression test on the 03 cobra with these results:
1. 200
2. 195
3. 200
4. 175
5. 200
6. 200
7. 195
8. 195

All numbers in psi.

The numbers look good, but number 4 is about 20 psi below the average. This is within 25% but not within 15 psi or even 10 psi as some suggest. I don't have the equipment right now to do a leakdown test.

What do you guys think?

You really need to do a leakdown if at all possible. The numbers you reported from the compression test are all above normal. 175 is actually a good number for an '03 with 30K on it.

Just out of curiosity on my part... #4 is the rear passenger cylinder when standing at the front of the motor, right?

U.M.

those number are high for sure.... for reference I did a comp test on my '04 @ 8k for peace of mind before warranty ran out. Mine ranged highest of 178 to low of 171. I would think your test were somehow flawed. U.M. is correct on cylinder location.
