MGW shifter ?

I have had aftermarket shifters before where the shifter comes lose and falls off because of the Allen head not holding it good enough. Does the MGW shifter hold? I notice the Allen holds the shifter

Yes it holds fine. I have it in my notch and love it.

I did use loctite my shifter ball or handle it still pops off. That is why I am asking if the MGW shifter handle holds. I notice it is held on the same way. The Pro 5.0. and Steeda does not it uses bolts

the pro 5.0 does use two allen head bolts to hold the upper portion to the lower portion of the shifter mechanism. i just had to fix mine about a week ago, because one of those bolts snapped right in half when i went to shift into reverse. it turned into a limp noodle with only one of the bolts in there. i'm just lucky it broke when i was stopped, and not hammering through the gears. easy fix though, even got the new bolt for free from the local parts store...

reading over again.... are you talking about the actual shifter mechanism, or just the shifter to handle part?

My MGW has never came lose.My stock one was lose when I got it.Tighted it as hard as I could without breaking and never came lose again untill I had to take it off because my dad and his friend couldn't.My friend uses locktight works good on his pro 5.0

On there web site it shows them tightening the handle with a allen stop my question is does it hold tight. To me it looks like it would come lose after a while

if that's what you're refering to, mine never came loose in over 2 years. but the upper bolt just broke on me.

awsome...you will love it. I thought mine was a little stiff the first day but it felt like it worked in and I got use to it. now I feel like I will break a stock one lol.

I bought one of the first MGW shifters when they first came out 4-5 years ago.

I didn't use loctite on the allens, i just snugged them up and they have been tight ever since.

Nice shifter.

mine came with the orange handle.....they dont offer the blue or red ones anymore but I got lucky and found a blue and red one on ebay from the same seller..I am using the blue one and I think i got the red one for like $1 so I couldn't refuse it lol.
