Alright, Marcus, Robert, et al... :hail2:

I've been working on "Saleen Wheel ID" webpages, using many of you guys' old posts, and it's ready for some serious proof-reading, correction, and critique... :ban:

Go to http://www.S281sc.com , then click on the "Wheel ID" link on the left side of the page.

What did I miss?
What did I get completely wrong?
Any extra pictures that you guys have to help clarify stuff???

Thanks! :nice:

How about the 07 Heritage 18" x 9" wheel.
(There will also be a slightly different 19" chrome version of this wheel design for the 08 H302.)

I had a set of the 90 ARE 5 spokes that were from saleen, but they were meant to be sold to non saleen owners that did NOT have rear discs. The rears were an xtra inch deep on the outside, they looked pretty cool.
At least this is the explanation that Mark at PA gave me as to why mine were deep dish.

Actually the STERNS are a true 3 piece, as the front ring and rear hoop do separate and are held together by the bolts that hold the center section on. There is a rubber seal that goes between the hoop and the ring that keeps it from leaking air. The reason I know, I've had mine apart.

Cool, I missed that one!!! Grey painted only, or will there be other colors / chrome?
18x9 only, or is there a 10" option? Do you know the offset(s)?
Is it used for other years and/or models, or just the 07 Heritage?

I'll watch for an 08 H302 wheel pic.

*Edit -
Ok, I found some good 08 H302 19" pics: http://www.saleenperformancedealer.com/Saleensinstock.html

Glad to help. The wheel guide is a great reference.
The 07 H281 wheel is a one year only design. (The 08 H302 uses a 19" version--thats why I got a second set.)
It's painted gray and only came in the 9" width. Haven't seen a chrome version yet. I'll try to find out more details.

For total production numbers, Saleen only built 57 H281 cars.

.....Bob,
I want to say thank you  from everyone for you taking the time to document all this information and make it live on your website. Awesome work man! This is the type of information and hard work that will be needed to keep the value of Saleen's high in the future. The same type of work that early Saleen owners are doing in conjunction with the SCOA. Give me some time and I'll find you the pictures of the Magnesium Style wheels that Saleen made on there own...

ya, the info on the 18 inch speelines was great.
Now, if only i knew why my 2000 explorer got the older rims. They are on the window sticker, so it couldn't be because of cracked magnesiums.

Thanks everybody. It's not a "perfect" document by any means, but we have to start somewhere!!! There's SO much information out there, thanks to all the knowledgeable people who care about these cars and have shared their knowledge!

In looking at the pictures I've collected so far - If you guys have any additional pictures that might help document some of the variations, I'd welcome anything that you can contribute. Also, If you see mistakes that I've made, please speak up! :nice:

Also, I'd love to see the information expanded. We are nearing 25 years of Saleen production - now is the time to document things, before we all get too old to remember! With the early cars, especially, there's so many subtle changes... I'd like to see pages on shift knobs, seats, stereos, radar detectors, body kit changes, etc....

Bob,

Thanks for all the info!! :nice:

I will get you some pics of some Saleen produced "Magnesium" style wheels in chrome.

I bought the last set from Saleen when they were closing them out in 02 or 03. I still have them in the box's. When I get a chance I will send you some pics!

Tom
