Fellow diecast addicts...

I looked at the link. It certainly gives the impression it is hand signed but I am willing to bet it is a reproduction (Printed) signature. Shelby will sign such things and you can order direct from the Shelby Children's Heart Fund. All money goes to the charity. But he charges $200 to sign a diecast.
I have some genuine signatures and some stamped. If this is a real, hand-signed autograph you got a bargain. I doubt that it is, though.

I found a few on eBay as well, so I don't think this company is making it up. If they happen to be, oh well. Then I overpaid a few dollars for a rare color. Some day I'll send a piece of my dash for him to sign.

Nice, Dark. We have a fairly sizable collection; however, we had to put a hold on he die cast additions until we get a place. HO Trains have become the new addiction. lol

I have a car very similiar to this that cost about the same. It has a printed signature. I asked some of those selling on ebay if the signature were hand signed. They responded and acknowledged that they were not. The price is not bad for a good diecast. It is dirt cheap if Shelby's signature is hand signed. If it is hand signed, there should be a certificate of authenticity with it and an individual serial number on the certificate.
Shelby isn't getting any younger. If you want a real signature, I would not delay in sending him the item you wanted signed.
Best of luck to you. Maybe you got a steal.

Either way, its a sharp looking model! I'd consider one, but my collection is already 50+ cars strong, and given that I only have room to display 14 of them in my new place... adding more probably isn't the best decision.

 I feel ya' Stangdude. Tom and I have this discussion daily, but one or the other caves in and we add something anyway. Our goal is to get a decent sized home with a finished basement. :nice: BASEMENTS FTW... :hail2:

Radio control helicopters are pretty cool. My son and I got into aircraft models and die cast replicas, so, yes, that is another area to venture into - in time. :D

I like the model and the unique color, and if it were 1:43 I'd grab it, authentic sig or not. There's limited space here anyway (you wouldn't believe the narrow little paths we use to get around the boxes and shelves of collectibles).

I have been at functions with Shelby himself, and have had some conversations with him. There was a stretch when every time he looked up I was there with a camera. It got so when he saw me he'd head the other way ...

I reckon there's not much chance now I'll get my "Terlingua Racing Team" Cobra diecast signed.

I'd surely like to have it done to go along with this "welcome" letter and certificate from 1966:

I have no recollection of the question I asked Shelby that he thought the editor of Car & Driver could answer for me.

This is a page that tells a bit how I started collecting. Some pages have not been updated, most cabinets have been rearranged, but I haven't got around to photographing them in their current states:

Thank you for the kind words, Jenn. It was exciting and fun when I started it, and I'm sure Web design has come a long way since I lost enthusiasm and let most of it lapse. Lately I've spent more time on the 1:1 Mustang in the garage.

We're about due for the every-five-years rotation of junk (from garage shelves to trash bin; indoor shelves to garage shelves; indoor stacks to indoor shelves); perhaps I'll match inventory to photographs and catch up to some degree. I keep telling myself it's all a process, can't really expect to "finish" such projects. Right?
