weight of a stock 1986-1993 ford mustang door

My bathroom scale weight can't be that far off.....am i to believe that it was an aditional 75lbs off???? It's within a few pounds of my own weight when i weigh myself on the digital freight scales at work which are calibrated to the gram, so it CAN'T be more than 5-10 lbs off at the most.

This has piqued my interest enough that i might just have to take one to work and set it on the freight scale and see. The only differences between years is going to be T top/vert vs. hard top, power vs. manual windows and locks, and a very slight difference in trim weight between the 4 eye window molding and the aero window molding, but even if you went from one extreme to the other it can't be more than 10 lbs. Even if one had a speaker in it and the other didn't.

Ram360 weighed his doors when his car was painted this summer and they were 85lbs each.. Thats full power doors. with glass and everything still inside the door..

. remeber all that weight is disputed over a greater area making it seem lighter.

i beg to differ on that. IF its an akward shape it will feel heavier. I have a guitar cabinet that weighs 65lbs and a head that weighs about 80. The head i can carry all day. The cabinet feels heavey as ****..

ya did my door pins today...lighter then i thought...128 pounds, vert doors with everything on/in em.

That's insane....they must add some kind of structural supports to vert doors or something because there's no way in hell my doors weigh that much, unless i've been shooting up steroids behind my own back.

Ryan's pulling numbers out of his ass, just like his weight disputed (rather than distributed) theory.

no it was from a scale.

edit:!!!nvm that number you can take off a few pounds. the tolls i was using to take the door off when i weighed it...all the tools may add up to about 15 pounds, ill have to weigh it again...ill do this sunday.

edita again: ill go weigh it in 15 mins...stay tuned

OK folks, this thread has gotten out of hand. As a result, tomorrow i'm gonna look into borrowing a buddy's truck and take one of my doors to work and set it on the shipping scale and TAKE A PICTURE OF IT so it's finally settled. After that i don't think it can be disputed, unless you wanna nit pick a few lbs for the vert/Ttop differences, which should actually be LESS as opposed to more. Being Sunday i don't know if i'll be able to make it happen, so if not i'll see about doing it Monday.

Dont waste your time man, Im sure the thread starter has his doors, and no one really cares, and the only person youd be proving wrong is.....Ryan....enough said.
