Losing fuel pressure

I wanted to know why it is that the fuel pressure does not remain constant on my car. I have an inline aeromotive pump only, no intank, upgraded fuel lines, upgraded fuel pressure regulator, bigger fuel rails. My gauge doesn't remain constant after I shut it off, and it take a couple turns of the key to get fuel pressure.

No leaks anywhere. What would cause this?

Could be a faulty fuel pressure regulator. I had an Aeromotive go out on me in the past and the symptoms sounds similiar to yours. The car was a pain to start and the fuel pressure would leak back to the tank quickly when I shut it off.
