i really really like how they sound, whats the best muffler for me to get to sound like them?

Alright, now that i have your attention.:rlaugh:

I'm starting to make a list of what direction I want to go with my car.
Heres what i'm thinking with the engine.

H/C/I trickflow top end kit.
some sort of longtube headers [I'm not too sure what ones yet, so recommendations are open]
Dr. Gas catless X pipe
SLP loudmouth II exhaust
3.73 or 4.10 gears

what kinda numbers am I looking at in the 1/4 mile. any recommendations on things i can change? I'm looking to make this a car that I can drive on the street everyday, but then once every so often go down to the track.

I've been thinking of different setups, originally I was thinking of putting some nitrous, cheap power, or a supercharger.

Another thing, was, the guy I ordered my tranny parts from, [new gears and everything, was saying that first gear barely moves the speedo], I'm waiting on the gears and everything to arrive, but with that, how much of first gear am i really going to have, if i put rear end gears in, such as 4.10s.

I'm fairly happy with the stance my car has, I'd like to go with some new rims in a year or so, but for now the rims I have are doing me just fine.

Thanks.

lol you got my attension...

If i had to do my car over again, i would def do a HCI package. Personaly id go with the TrackHeat setup so you can rev it higher then id go with 3.73's if you have a 5 speed. If your doing the install yourself id go ahead and buy studs for everything.

You will have to get the car tuned and added fuel support. for me i just went with 42 pound injecters and just tuned it myself. 255 in tank pump. Depending on what tuning way you want to go chose your Maf accordingly. If your going to AEM, SCT or PMS, call around if you want someone to do it for you and see what MAF they are comfortable with for thier tuning software.

I wish i could do my car over from scratch :)

It would be

347 8.5 comp
some big HCI package
ATI procharger or turbo.
Fuel system upgrades.

Do it right the first time :nice:

I did all the little things, once i did the supercharger i was kicking myself for nickle and diming everything at first.

Most power for the money is poweradder + tune

yeah, thats the main thing i was thinking of, because my brother used to race his mustangs with 302s, and he bought so many parts, only to swap them out later down the line. and he never really had a set idea of where he wanted to go with the car.

so i figured before I have the money to drop, it will give me a little more time to think.

and yeah i'd be doing the install on everything at my house for the most part.

where at in NJ are you?

i'm from hamilton/trenton area.

haha I figured i'd get alot of people in here either to flame me for the title
or see me getting flamed for the title.

good way to get attention, but bad if someone just reads the title and thinks its true and rips me a new one hah.

No Comment as I always try to keep things on a positive level :D

1/4 mile times can be so misleading :bang:

You can most likely reach 300 rwhp give or take with that combo :)

I've seen some reach high 11's or low 12's with less than 300 rwhp
and
I've seen some not be able to escape the 13's with more than 300 rwhp

Driver ability makes a difference that is so varied ... I really usually don't
place much stock in that measurement.

I will go out on a limb and say in general terms :D

If you are an average driver
and
You're talking stick trans .......

A nice h/c/i combo like you ask about here should scoot you down the 1320
in about 12.75 if you got some dr's and cut a decent sixty foot.

No reason you could not depend upon this car :nono:
but
It is gonna be thirsty around town :(
and
It is gonna lope a good bit at lights :(

I'd not worry about your first gear if you are talking t-5 :nono:

Honestly ... do you drive around town all that much in first gear now

This concern is way over rated IMHO
and
Here is the reason ;)

Yes ... for a stock Stang that starts to peter out at around 4800 rpm :fuss:

410's will be fairly radical
but
For a h/c/i Stang ... 410's will not seem as radical :D

You see ... after you do up your h/c/i combo you'll see two differences
1) You'll continue to make power beyond 4800 where the stocker drops
2) You'll then discover your power band has been extended

Also ... You won't feel first gear is so short anymore :nice:

True ... highway speeds and the rpm's you turn is the same no matter if
talking stocker or h/c/i Stang

but

Steep gears just don't behave the same in modded and stock Stangs :Word:

Again ... I'm talking stick trans here ;)

If you are talking dd application ... I'd do 373's

If we're talking weekend toy only ... I'd go 410's

Good Luck with your plans :D

this is a daily driver, but i don't do much around town driving, a majority of my driving is highway driving.

and yeah this is a t-5, but i'm putting new gears in soon as they arrive, from astroperformance.

i'm not the best driver, but its not like I don't know how to drive, its just i'm unexperienced for racing, so i'll be pulling some crap times until i find what works for me best.

do you think i should wait until i start my H/C/I swap to put gears in? where would see the most power gain? i understand its not really power gain, but it does help your E/T and elapsed speed.

thanks for your post, its helped me understand what it will change and what will stay the same, and reassured me that this is the route I want to go.

If i could get into the 12s that would be awesome, for a daily driven car, that all this would cost around 6 grand including the price of the car.

If i get a set of rims to use just for the track, would drag radials be better then slicks?

or should I go for some nice drag radials and just drive them around on the streets too?
