I'm putting a hitch on my 5.0

i think they look bad, but they're functional..when i see a big square in the back of a nice GT bumper it makes me cringe...but hey, at least they can put their show goodies in the trailer and not in the storage hatch, IN the car

your resale value will probably suck if the buyer finds out you trailered things with it.
I've seen 5.0s for sale with hitches and actually seen potential buyers look the other way.

I don't know what your intent is, but here is my $0.02:

Pulling around a streamlined mini trailer with slicks and a toolbox inside on your way to the track: :nice:

Pulling around a John Deere on a rusty home made- open trailer on your way to pull up some stumps at the farm: :notnice: :nono: :nonono: :ban:

This is the sort of thing for which I'd rather use The Chubby. Better to put the towing wear n' tear on a purpose-built utility kind of vehicle than on a sports car that was really never intended to haul anything but arse. :)

Friend had a low 12 second hatch that he had a hitch on. Towed an 18' boat from NJ to ME every year. The boat ramp he avoided but was able to move the car to and from the houses, when he had no other way to do so. He either had a hitch on his car or sold it for something else... You decide.

well that is different. having a hitch says one of two things:

1. "Yeah its a badass street/strip monster and I can haul all my race gear AND drive to the track, and tow your POS when it breaks. . . "

2. "I'm broke and have bad taste, and trailer my lawn motor with it."

I hope you are in the former rather than the latter

My friends car wasn't a street strip terror as it only ran 12.0s @ 110 (GT40 heads, stock cam, intake, exhaust) but it was his only car, and he had the boat. It was either Mustang with a hitch or some other type of car. He didn't have room at his apartment for multiple cars either. To me it wasn't redneck, or dumb, and it served its purpose well!

I can see a 5.0 having the power to pull the boat. I CANNOT see myself launching it with my car's ass buried in water though... On an LX I think with those "hidden-hitch" you'd barely notice. Honestly do what you got to do.
