B&M Hammer shifter...

Okay, I'm in the process of installing a B&M shifter in my Fox (converting from manual to an AODE) and I can not get the console to fit back in once the shifter is in place. I tried to put the shifter in place as I fit the console back in and still no dice... Anyone else run into this problem?? I've had a rough day and I'm a bit tired, but my thinking can't be THAT far off.... Alright guys...spill the beans!!

I thought the trans tunnels are different where the shifters mount. The 5 speed were a little taller.

I had to take the handle off the shifter to get mine in. PITA . A pair of those angled needle nose pliers are useful when putting it back together.

Yeah, that was about the only other thing I could come up with, which I didn't want to do, but oh well... I appreciate the input!

Yep, I found out that is correct... I've had to cut some of the material out and move it back about 1/4"...What we do to make stuff work that's not supposed to...

Yep, that's what I'm doing... I hammered out the location to about 7" X 9". I'm going to get a piece of 1/16" sheet metal tomorrow so I can make it look right.
