Ordered Shifter today!

Got it here and it's installed already! Took about 20 minutes to install. Very easy installation. And man are the throws short! And it looks bad ass! It is very notchy, but I love that! It clicks into every gear! Very pleased!

That shifter looks great! How much does it typically cost to have it installed? Or can you do it yourself?

I found the hardest part of the install was gettin my car lifted high enough to get underneath and the second was getting the new shifter into the opening. To get it into the opening, put the shifter in from the top as far as you can then get undeneath and it will seam to drop right in.

Whoa how did you get the interior lighting to be that bright?!? Even at full luminosity setting mine is nowhere near as bright!

Lol everyone always asks that. In fact, some of my images are in SHR's ads, and apparently he's had people calling asking how they can get that neon lighting kit for their dash lights. It's just the way I take the pictures. I use a 3 exposure HDR process to achieve the effect I'm looking for. Here's a couple others.

The trim is from SilverHorse Racing. It's their satin polished and anondized finish. Be careful with the grabberpony.com knobs. They're good quality, but they're larger than the Hurst knob. The Hurst knob is 1.75" and the GP knobs are 2". I Haven't tried one, but I did try a 2.25" knob accidentally, and it was ginormous. I believe 1.75" is perfect for these cars. 2" might be pushing it.

You are correct about our Shift Knobs, they are all 2.00"...the same size as the original Ford shift knob.

When we researched customer preference, most liked the 2" the best. Many felt that the Hurst 1.75" felt too small and, like you found, the 2.25" is too big.

You should give the 2" a try. I think you will like it. :D

I'm still contemplating it, Mark. I know you make quality products. I guess I shouldn't have said "be careful", as some may take that to mean stay away. I just wanted to point out the fact that it is larger than the Hurst knob, and to make sure they were aware before ordering.

I had no problem with the "be careful" statement. I knew what you meant and I'm sure most other readers understood your intent as well. It's all good!

The Hurst is a classic style and I understand completely why many folks choose to have it in their new Mustang. In fact, when I first started to offer Shift Knobs I thought that I would almost never receive an order for a White knob because I thought most folks would buy the Hurst knob...but I was wrong! You would be surprised how many White and Black knobs I sell.

White, Black and Grabber Orange are my most popular colors (btw...the Grabber Orange folks are all crazy! I'm glad I'm one of them. :D ).

I am working on something that will give the Hurst Shifter look but maintain the original Ford shifter. Stay tuned!
