What did you get for Xmas thread?

Is this something that can be driven reliably in a 30K miles/year car????

Absolutely, but I highly recommend installing a bigger transmission cooler to be safe. All of Fuddle's stall converters for the 5R55S are lock-up style for better economy in 4th and 5th for highway cruising. My 07 GT is a daily driver and so far so good.

If you drive around all day flashing the converter, however, you generate a lot of heat (much like slipping a clutch in a stick shift car). And my stall converter flashes to a really wild 4,300 rpm's so it's more of a race converter than a street converter, but it's still very, very streetable! I stay out of the converter most of the time (via throttle position), but love getting into the flash more often than most.

For most stock to mild GT automatics, I'd suggest Fuddle's 3,000 rpm converter. Maybe the 3,400 rpm at the most. Add mods, and the converter will flash higher. My converter is their 3,800 rpm unit, but with CAI and tune it flashes 500 rpm's higher (more torque forces more stall speed). However, peak torque in our GT's is 4,500 rpm's, so mine flashes to just a bit below peak torque which is awesome!
