My favorite bike Silver and blue Busa! I have a 05 Honda Shadow Aero VT750 I ride back and forth to work in the summer.

Updated. Pics in the first post.

Nice Bike!! Are you going to be running a series like AMA Dragbike or Mirock? As for leathers, you can check with Vanson or Bates, they are both popular with the AMA Dragbike series racers.

I have witnessed 2 Top Fuel bike pilots come off their bikes at the top end at over 200mph, and they both only suffered minor injuries and very little road rash wearing Vanson leathers. Bottom line....get good leathers.:nice:

I've seen some crazy fast passes on no bar bikes. Of all of the different classes, Pro Street has to be the most insane class. The fastest I've personally seen ran a 7.202 at 204.66 and lost on a hole shot.

A buddy of mine bought a busa back in the summer. I rode all the other 600's and bike that he had. But that busa is just crazy fast. He wrecked if a few months ago and got some road rash. I fix the bike and was riding it two days later. He has yet to get back on it. He was running about 120 when the front tire went flat on the interstate.

We're not sure about a series yet. Have to talk to all the guys and see how often they'd be willing to go. I'm up for it! I just ordered my leathers the other day. I got Alpinestars "Octane" leathers. They were about $800 but I got them for dealer cost. Everyone keeps telling me I'm going to die doing this, but I have seen a lot of track crashes on bikes without major injuries like you were saying. Oh well, all the people telling me I can't do it just makes me want to prove them wrong!

There's a turbo Busa on theturboforums that ran 6.87 @ 206mph with a 1.13 60' on a slick with no wheelie bar. That's pretty rediculous imo.

MIROCK is a good one since you are in NE, they only run the Maryland Int'l and Rockingham. AMA Dragbike travels around the eastern US.....GA,TN,NJ,IN, and OH. Both have 8 races per season.

I think you'll be fine, the key is having the proper safety equipment. I talk to guys running in every class, from nearly stock street bikes up to the Top Fuel bikes, none of them would trade it for anything. Have fun out there!!:nice:

The 'Busa has a couple of weak points, one being the clutch basket. Make sure they keep an eye on it if you are running a stock basket or replace it with a billet basket. The stockers have been known to crack and then come apart. Also make sure they have the slave support on the clutch cylinder.
