i have a 97 mustang gt and i just received my bassani x-pipe w/ cats and my flowmaster catback. and i was wondering if the install would be hard to do with some simple hand tools. the reason i want to do it on my own is b/c i have been saving up/waiting for this exhaust for a long time and don't want to wait the extra 2 weeks for my paycheck to come in and to take it to the shop. plus i think it would be a fun experience installing it myself. so if anyone could give me their opinion it would be well appreciated.

thanks

I did it myself, but air tools help tremendously. I put the car up on 4 ramps, then used a jack to help hold the midpipe up while bolting it in. The catback half of things was easy. Just don't tighten anything up until you get it all in place and situated / adjusted the way you want it.
I'd be hesitant doing this without air tools...and it cannot be done without swivels / extensions as stated above.

ya ok nvm. my buddy whos helping me bolt it all on has all the tools needed to do the job. my only concern is will the bassani x pipe and flowmaster catback bolt up to eachother without me having to heat up the metal and bend it

will they go together fine or not?

Practially all X, H, and Prochamber mid pipes will bolt up to all of the catbacks that are designed for the correct year Mustang.

The Bassani/Flowmaster combo is used a bit and will work fine.

Its not a hard install. The worst part is breaking the bolts loose from the exhaust manifold to stock H pipe.

ya so my bassani x-pipe and my flowmaster catback came in on friday. me and my buddy put one of the mufflers thats welded to the pipe that connects to the x-pipe together to make sure we had a good fit. what im worried about is that they connected but the flowmaster catback overlapped the x-pipe hole by only a 1/4 of an inch. is this normal? because my friend is worried that there will be an exhaust leak which ultimately makes me paranoid. what does everybody else think about this situation????

Honestly I thought my supercharger install was easier LOL...but the X pipe isn't too bad. The hardest part is removing the bolts from the passenger side header. Soak it GOOD with PB blaster the day before the install, and that sucker will pop right out.
