whats the biggest ghetto rigs you've done?

Worst I've done is when I had my 87LX 4cyl. The alternator bearing went out, seizing up, throwing my belt. I drove the car home 10 miles with a shoestring running the water pump, so it wouldn't over heat. Actually I've done worse, but nothing I want to admit to.

Now my friend (another stangnetter who I let remain nameless) once raced someone with his hood bungee corded shut (his latch was broke) and the cord broke at about 120mph, his hood caved his whole windshield in, dented his roof, ****ed his cowl, also breaking his new fiberglass hood.

Is there actually someone south of Washington D.C. that has a working heater?
Mine been bypassed since I bought the car in 92. You only need a heater 1 or 2 days a year here in Central Florida.

Got another one. I had a 65 Lemans and the rings were shot. The blowby was so bad that when you got on it it would piss oil out of the dip stick holder. So I routed a fuel hose over the dip stick holder rite over to the valve cover. The valve covers had a rubber plug in them so I made a hole in it and shoved the hose in it! (Red neck oil cooler :D )

I used to drive a beater Crown Vic, so one day i decided i wanted to put glass packs on it lol.

I cut the pipes right behind the cats, and cut off just enough pipe to fit them under the car. I used exhaust clamps to hold them, but they fell off a few times, so i tightened the heck out of them and wired them up with so much wire it looked like a maze under the car. And the rest of the stock exhaust was just hanging in the back:rlaugh: :rlaugh:

Not sure wich is more Ghetto, The beater Vic or the pipes! :rlaugh:

A buddy of mine has a Honda prelude. Recently the header cracked wide open. We pulled the header off I welded up the crack but the the gasket between the down pipe and the header flange had dry rotted and it fell apart. The only thing left was the wire mesh that was inside the gasket, Since all the parts stores were closed I searched the garage to find something to make a gasket. I found a tube of black rtv.... The rtv and the mesh made a nice seal LOL!! Its still like this and still sealed well.

Is it "Ghetto rigged" Or "Genius" You decided.

My heater works. :D. as a matter of fact, EVERY option and little doo-hickey on my car still works (including my ashtray door) except for my hazards and that's only because theres no flasher in my fuse box. :flag:

I forgot to mention I also have the battery in my GT bungee-corded firmly into place. Not ideal, and I know I need to invest in an actual tie-down, but right now at least it won't bounce up enough to hit the hood or anything, so...

I got two
First one is I was ran off the road by some lady when I was driving my 90 F150 and I hit a trash can taking out my turn signal lens, so I took a pennzoil bottle cut it to shape and put it in place with some sylicone(spelling???) it worked and also lit up yellow.
Second one is I had a dodge ram 50 that had some electrical issues and I had no running lights out back only brake lights, so I would take some small flashlites and put them behind my tail light covers when I had to drive at night.

Yes. It's so damn humid here in north Georgia that you need to have the heat on sometimes to defog the windows. The rare days when it's really cold, the heat is nice(I leave it set on low or otherwise it runs you out of the car). :nice: My car was covered in some thin ice Saturday morning when I went outside. All the dew that formed on it the night before had frozen.

As far as rigging stuff, I've installed a catch can before on one mustang as a band-aid fix to keep oil out of the intake(rings were shot). Other than that, I haven't rigged anything else so far.

when i was doing the clutch on my 4cyl back in october, i had to cut one of the exhaust studs off where the midpipe and cat-back connect. instead of pulling it out and replacing it, we tightened the **** out of it to see if it would seal...lol and it did so we left it

I used to have the battery held down with safety wire wrapped all around it, and surprisingly enough I passed tech at the drag strip lol. Also my dome light kept coming on and staying on so I duck taped a stack of penny's inside the door so that the dome light switch would be mashed all the way.
I was 16 when I did all of this and everything has since been de-ghetto rigged.
