explorer intake

does the 96 explorer 5.0 have the gt40 intake?theres a rolled over explorer near me,but i have not looked at it yet.also,what would be a fair price to pay for it?

If it is a 5.0L then yes it is a GT-40 style intake. Not sure if '96 had them though.

you'll need the elbow for the intake. i'm pretty sure. i could be wrong though.

The heads and intake are gt40 (and IIRC 96 was just gt40...no P stuff yet).

he wants 140 for the upper/lower explorer intake,not sure about price for heads. another guy has a original cobra intake for 175. which would be the best deal?

Buy them both and the heads off the exploder as well.

Ebay the cobra (more money) intake as all the gt40 intakes flow close to one another.

Either sell the heads off the exploder or put them on the car with the intake you keep.

You can clean up the exploder intake with some elbow grease....mine looks great.

picked up the explorer intake and heads today.look to be in very good condition.i have an extra long block at home.im going to clean that up,rering and install new bearings,e-cam,have the heads gone over,install new springs and roller rockers over the next couple months.(as money allows)

been finding some good deals on craigslist lately,i moved a little too slowly for the original cobra intake,though.its been sold already.
