The pcv is known for sucking up some oil. Some people run a catch can so that the oil doesn't get into the intake. You can search on here for that.

Using a higher octane shouldn't cause ticking. As long as the sound goes away, I wouldn't worry too much. Something in the valvetrain may just be sticking and it goes away as the engine heats up.

Welcome to SN :)

Why are you running 93 octane?

The GT was made for 87 octane. It will make the most power with it. Running 93 is only wasting your money.

Does the whine sound like it comes from the transmission or shifter area?

are you serious?????? i use 91, and afraid to use 87 cuz of knocking or power loss, but im guessing im wrong on this. is it really better to use 87? sorry for taking it off topic. i know it was designed to perform with 87, but mines got its miles on it and its had to be torn down before for head issues, i thought running 91 would compensate for some of the wear and tear.

Try a tank of 87 octane. If you get on it and expereince some detonation (pinging) then try for 89 octane and see if it does it there.

91 is just a waste of money. Our engines are low compression and do not have a power adder so there is no need for high octane.

i replaced the hose and now it doesnt leak any more. the whin is diffent come from the front of the car and is only in first gear. i use 91 casue its a cleaner fuel 87 sucks makes it sound like a diesel
