Mostly, word of mouth. It started with a handful of walkins. Some on the phone but not as much. I really made sure I took care of walk-in customers, then I get new walk-ins that go..."Hey Matt, do you know Madison??" I go yeah..why? He sent me?? That's the way it works on every single one. I can't always please everyone, but I try my best.

I should try E-bay but I am lazy.

I've tried local classifieds and I have had really inconsistent responses. Some stuff people are fighting to get ahold of me for no good reason (red GT door panels) and other stuff I seem to hold on to forever (grey GT small headrest seats). Just thought i'd ask someone who is clearly successful. Thanks.

svt32vdohc: Ive had so many parts that people that come to the local auto repair shop needing mustang parts, they give them my number, because I have or can get for cheap anything fox body related!! I try to hook everybody up well, I negotiate with everybody equally, like I sold a tc rear 8.8 a month or so back and they got it for $80 and took an sn95 bb/mc with them home for $20. I dont really look into it so far as making money, I just like the "trader" atmosphere. It seems everybody is the same and it works for me.

however all my parts on ebay get jacked up because most of them are rare or in high demand parts..

I work at the yard that my Dad owns. I have 11 fox bodies in the yard. Some are pretty picked at some have more stuff. I stash hard to find parts and have multiples of everything. I don't let people see any of it, because the possiblility of midnight shoppers. Here is what I pull most money out of.

crazy how one post can affect your outlook on somebody so much. I actually thought you were pretty cool and i followed your threads with the amazing work your doing on project 81 hackjob, but that all changed.and now i feel that
Its nice to know your F.U.C.KING THE MUSTANG COMMUNITY:nice: :nice: :nice: :nice:
THANKS MAN:mad: :( :nonono:

you all should settle down...supply and demand supply is low he can sell them high!.

also prices vary where you live.

you try buying parts at those prices. oh wait you dont have a job nvm. there is never an excuse for price gouging.
for those prices I could hit 50resto and get new stuff.

on a happy note pick n pull had a 5spd 4banger that only had 40k miles on it before it got totaled from the rear. I grabbed the shifter boot, shift knob, and the black trim for 10.50. SCORE another one for Clay. it also has the sport buckets. I am going back tomorrow to get those at 25 a pop.

i wouldn't pay them prices! i got the parts at my disposal :D the old mans car! he would never know! till spring when he goes to start it

For everyone getting on SVT32VDOHC about his prices.

IF PEOPLE ARE WILLING TO PAY THE PRICE THEN SO BE IT.

I would do the same thing and I think everyone on this site would also.
Business is business. If you cant make a profit then you wont stay in business long.

There is always someone willing to pay too much for something they want.

as Kimbo Slice once said, "A N**gas gotta eat!"... if you guys want to complain so much, start your own stuff up and undersell the **** out of him. that's how i did it with my skate shop business when i was a young'n... are you guys gonna trash talk ME for putting a couple local shops out of business for over-pricing customers?

thats not what this is about, its the fact that all the prices he listed , almost all of it could be bought new for the same price. And people who have mustangs are supposed to be helping each other out, not trying to screw the next guy over. He could still make money on the parts, there is no reason for the gouging going on. Its just bad business and crooked. Granted, you got to make money, but not at the expense of people who share the same hobby and are trying to restore their mustangs just like everybody else on this board. Now im not saying just that just cause joe blow comes in with a mustang that you should give him parts for free, but you shouldnt also charge such a rediculous amount that it bleeds the pocket of the buyer. for instance.

he even states that made 145 dollars on two alternator brackets, he paid 5 bucks for them and sold them for 75 each, thats just greedy and wrong in my eyes.
He could have sold them for 25 or 30 a piece and still made 50 bucks or so.

If people are willing to pay that then it's their own fault.

Don't rip the guy for making a buck. I didn't know there was a rule when you bought a Mustang that you aren't allowed to overcharge for parts. If that was true, 5.0 resto would be breaking that rule on everything they sell

If someone doesn't like his prices, let them go elsewhere. We all know if we look around we could find all the stuff on his list for MUCH cheaper.

Supply and demand
