The last few days here in FL, we've gotten some rain. For some reason, when it rains, I get alittle water under my spark plugs/cop. I clean it out replace the plugs and usually it works again. But last night on my way home from work, it started to get stuttery, and shoddy, like I had water under the cop. Then the CEL came on, and started flashing intermittently. when I got home, (about a 45 min drive) I cleaned up the plugs( they looked fine anyways) and the cop's (took the rust color off and applied some dialetic boot grease) and put them back in. I also cleaned out the spark plug holes form any water. It ran alot better than before but was still throwing the P0302 code. It still ran shoddy, but not as bad as before. I can't figure out what cylinder 2 is, can someone post a diagram to tell me what it is? I thought it was as follows:

4 8
3 7
2 6
1 5

This is bugging me to no ends......I tried to switch out the cop, but I may have done the wrong cyliner, which proves nothing. I', at work right now (had to drive it this morning, and I won't beable to fix it until I get home tonight) Any and all help will be appreciated.

You've got the cylinder layout correct, here's some proof:

If you're convinced one of the COPs is bad, take a voltmeter to them and measure the resistance. I forgot the proper amount of ohms, I believe 5.5? Either way, measure a couple (or all of them) and if one is way different from the rest, it's toast. That worked for me, I had the same problems as you, except for the water issues.

Good luck!

yeah, that probably what I'll end up doing if my friend can't come by...... If it is, where would be the best place to buy just one?? Do they sell them at adavnced auto, Or do I need to go to FORD for one. I would need it the same day since it is my daily driver, and I don't like to drive it around like the way it is.

yeah, I was planning on it, I was reffering to if I had to go to the dealership, but looks like I can get one from autozone. A co-worker was telling me about a local salvage yard that has a few mustangs..... I may go check them out. This is all of course if it turns out I ned a new one.

Yeah, my COP's are fine, but one of the threads into the intake manifold came loose, so the screw just spins freeley. I tried to epoxy it back into the manifold, but you guys have any other sloutions to keep it from coming out again??
