Well, i took the trip down to g-force motorsports today to throw my little piece of heaven on the dyno. Car has been running shiesty at part throttle after i tore off the top end to freshen up all the gaskets and i wanted to see why. Here is the breakdown of the mods:
- Stock 302 Block w/ stock internals 156,000 miles
- Stock E7 Heads
- Stock Cam
- Stock Upper/Lower Intake
- MAC CAI (probly does more harm than good lol )
- Pro-M 75mm MAF
- BBK Shorties
- BBK O/R H-Pipe
- Pypes Violator SS Catback w/ 40 Series Flows welded in
- SHO Taurus E-fan
- Kirban AFPR
The first run netted me 226 rwhp and was dangerously lean at AFR from 15-18:1.
The second run jumped to 230 rwhp after going from 38psi to 42psi on the AFPR, and adding 5 more degrees timing, for a total of 28. AFR was still lean at 15:1 across the board
The third run we added even more fuel and came to 232 rwhp. AFR was 14:1. Still wants more fuel
The final numbers were 233 RWHP , 307 RWTQ . The fuel pressure was set @ 50psi. Sounds a bit ridiculous to me that it needed so much fuel... but i saw the AFR readings myself and were a steady 13.4:1 across the board.
To say the least i was very impressed as i had not been expecting to make more than 220 rwhp and about 270 rwtq. Everyone at the shop was impressed as well as they had not seen any stock HCI cars put down such numbers. The car not only runs stronger WOT now, but it doesnt hesitate at part throttle like it used to from running so lean. Time to head back to the track to see how much she picks up w/ the tuning and some sticky tires.
After all was said and done with my car a guy came in with a 07 M5 that i just had to stay and watch dyno... Filters and exhaust the car put down 452 rwhp I shed a little tear, and left.
