went for a ride in a 600 hp saleen

I wouldnt doubt that the car was beaten on.. The way the guy drove it, looked like he knew what he was doing though.. And i give him props on handleing the car the way he did.. The head gasket was blown before he did that by the way, he looked suprised and took it to get an oil change after i pointed it out.. The car is badace, i have a link to youtube that his car was dyno'd at 520 before he did some upgrades. And when he was dynoing it one coil was shot. He also owns a twin turbo fox mustang w/ a 351 bored and stroked that runs 9's all day.. Theirs a link on youtube of that video 2.. Heres the one with the saleen

So he knew the headgasket was blown before he ran it hard, or did he say it had to be blown before he did it?

A 351 that has been bored and stroked is not a 351.

Circuit racing is tough on engines.

I am a little suspicious....

I am very glad your buddy did not buy that car.

Well, if it's nothing special and is used for only making power with it, then **** - why not make power with it? don't get me wrong - if i were trying to sell my car, i wouldn't go do donuts in a parking lot and say "SEE?! SHE WHIPS LIKE A ****IN DOMINATRIX!"... BUT, anyone going to buy that car knows what the car is used for (you yourself said "this car to me is nothing special other than making power"). With that being said, what would your main selling point be? Plus, i think there's a lot more to selling a car then just signing the paper and trading keys - there are selling points and, i hate to say it, finess.. the guys in the video (excuse me if i'm wrong), look pretty young - early 20-somethings? If a younger kid came to me looking to buy MY 600 whp car, i'd at least give the kid a taste of what it's got, because i'd be wise enough to know that the majority of them are dumb and came there to buy something that they speculate is fast. the original poster even said that his buddy WAS going to buy it without a doubt, until he found the blown head gasket.

Well I guess we look to do things different. Number one to ME that car is nothing special, to the average 20 something it's the be all and end all. Look at what people do and say baout a 600 rwhp Saleen, they cream themselves. I can assure you the average person going to look at this car expects it to be well maintained, working perfect and taken care of. The fact the owner goes out and abuses it to me shows maybe he doesn't care, couple that with mily oil and... abused car. Now I don't mind showing the power a car has, but to find out someones a "good driver" on a test drive has to have me believe he did more than a roll into the throttle.

Oh well no worries, I am not buying it. Just some observations from the posts and pics.

that guy can't drive for shiot. the car sounds good and looks good but im sure its had a rough life and wouldn't make it much longer with the current owner or any other ex ricers looking for a muscle car. whipping it like that is retarded. someone who knew what they are doing knows a nice powered drift around the corner is much safer for them and the kids standing around. reminds me of those vids from that mustang show where the morons kept hammering it around the corner doing that same crap and plowed their nice stangs into oncomming traffic

After watching the actual video I decided the owner has NO idea how to sell a product unless he is selling to a bunch of immature kids.

"get behind the pole..."

"Don't worry, dude can drive"

Has to be the most LAUGHABLE thing I have ever heard. I would like to know whether it was Bondourant or Skip Barber that teaches you how to drive around in a parking lot like that... HAHA

That is/was Sirsureshots car. He had the green lx with twins and a 331 on this site. I know he was trying to sell this car a while ago, not sure if he did or not. From what I know about him he does extremely good work and fabbed up some suspension products for the car. He got in to road course racing and didn't want to hack up this car anymore. I don't blame him, its a nice car. I've never met him myself but I know someone who knows him well, like I said he does very good work on his vehicles.

Agreed, He knows how to build a car. I dont know why everyone is saying bad things.. The car is solid, and can take the abuse.. He doesnt Ream the shi out of it and keeps up with it.. He just caught the shi end of the stick

I've been waiting to click on this thread all day and some how knew I wasn't going to be impressed. I should have listened to myself and not clicked. :nonono:

I know who owned the car, and know his online reputation as well. I saw the posts where he put the brakes on also. Some of the best drivers, and most reputable Mustang owners abuse their cars, it's the nature of the beast. I just think with it having a blown headgasket and the way he was driving it, anyone in their right mind would question buying it.

Funny, everyone kissed his ass when he had a foxbody.
I'd suspect it has been driven hard, and maintained properly.
That's what we do with our cars.
Sweet ride.
With 600 hp on tap, stuff happens.
If the bearings aren't washed out, it's probably fine after the gasket is fixed.

+1
From what I've read on his posts he built the car for track use, probably why the car was driven hard...Like you said tho, we all do it. I know I do

Well as probably the only one left "dogging" him (I use that lightly, I am more or less saying when selling a car, the appearance and how you drive it) I can assure you I never kissed any part of him. I did like the look and power of his car and what he did to it, as well as this one... just my opinion on selling a car.
