 I was bored yesterday so I decide to change my spark plugs.
finished the drivers side, no problem. Then I get to the second plug from
the firewall on the passenger side, pull on the rubber boot and it breaks
in half.... after pulling the piece out with needle nose pliers
I had to silicon it together, let it dry, and reinstall. Ford says they have
the boot... $13 each

When is the last time you changed the wires? IMO, if it has been a while, it would be kinda silly to buy just 1 wire.

That one that you put back together with silicone is likely going to stop functioning correctly pretty soon ..

Technically the 99+ Gt's don't have plug wires they have coil overs, just an electrical plug goes to each coil eliminating ordinary plug wires. Making changing plugs pretty easy to do since you don't have to run plug wires anywhere. so just replace the boot on the coilover and you will be fine, i wouldn't trust silicon holding it together for long

+1. Not only that, you risk not properly insulating the plug both electrically and from moisture once that rubber boot cracks. You can buy them alot cheaper through Car Quest than through Ford. If I remember, it cost me less than $40 to replace all 8 rubber boots.

Should have removed the fuel rail. LOL

That sucks and that means you had had at least 5 beers by then.
