I was datalogging to check the duty cycle of my injectors....Foot to the floor in second, put it in 3rd and I think I let the clutch out too late before 3rd was fully engaged and BOOM CLUNK CLUNK CLUNK CLUNK :rlaugh:

I coasted to a stop and tried to get home slow....no luck the sound got worse and worse, I started to pull into a parking spot and it LOCKED up. If I move like 3-4 it locks up
Oops! :D

SOOO what trans should I go with, I'm lookin at G-force's and Tremecs/TKO's....aiming towards the G-force because it's a direct swap and don't have to buy a new clutch, bellhousing, crossmember, etc...and I want one ASAP. Who's running a G-force, any problems? What's that other company that makes the same trans that now makes their own gears? Astro performance?

both of the g force t-5's I have (both dog ring) have a 26 spline input shaft as opposed the 10 spline factory input shaft. all you would need is a 26 spline disk.

Dog ring'd trannys arnt for everyone. Basicaly if all the after market parts you bought and installed were listed as not streetable and you still feel comfortable streeting it then you are on. if you have removed parts cuz they were too radical for the street then get the synchro'd tranny.

I would like to stay with the clutch I have in there now which is a 10 spline plus its pretty new. I'm looking at the Astro A-5 650 hp version but i'm kinda leary since I don't see anyone with one, or a G-force for that matter.

The original argument about the g force transmissions is that the case is the weak point not the internals (BTW they do have an upgraded case available for $250). I wouldn't mind building one myself to see how they hold up but the KITS are just too damn pricey (the syncro kit 1100 and the dog ring kit is 1500-1700). It would probably be best to find a used TKO for the kind of coin you will spend.

only 2 t-5's before you learned your lesson and are going to buy something good. Thats impressive. I'mon t-5 number 6 now. I keep buying 300 dollar jobbies out of wreked mustangs. one of these day's i'll learn aswell.
