Is my clutch going out?

  • Sponsors (?)

Sorry it took me so long to respond but, wow, I didn't expect this old thread to be bumped again.

Anyway, my problem ended up just being a couple of bad spark plug wires. The reason I didn't inspect them immediately was because they weren't even a year old. I didn't expect them to be bad, but it turns out I got a bad batch of wires, which also explains why my first dyno run after the PI swap and cams only yielded 245 rwhp. I had it dynoed again after replacing them, and she put down 265 rwhp :nice:

Ok, so I just went out for a drive and here's what I noticed:

1. I did the "hill test." It's not the clutch. The clutch is holding fine in all gears.
2. I noticed that the car is bucking any time I cruise at about 2000 rmp's in any gear.
3. It's like the car is just losing power during these flat spots.

Maybe it is a misfire. I still can't tell.

has anyone ever figured out what causes this besides plugs, Maf, coilpacks, vaccum leaks because there are alot of forums with the same problem but no one ever says they found the problem. now my 1999 Gt with a D1sc and a t65 swap is doing it and its driving me crazy trust me im trying to do my research ive checked every plug, wire, conector on the car that i touched and it just consistently jumps to rich at exactly 2000 rpms and almost makes the car sound like its going into 2 step. Please help be the first to post an actual solution on this website haha.

Replace your fuel filter and see what happens. Its easy to do, like a 15 minute job

BTW replacing a fuel injector is not hard. And taking off the entire plenum assembly is pretty easy, all you do is unbolt the 4 bolts and maybe disconnect the air intake from the throttle body and a couple other bolts...you could do it in 15 mins...
