Hi everyone, to get to the point this morning i was driving to work and i was about to make a right to enter a parking lot suddenly the car just buckle up: engine cut off, the steering wheel locked up, i push the brake car keep sliding, when it finally came to a stop, i saw the "service engine soon" light on, i turn the ignition off and back on the car started with no problem. Thank God there were no other cars in the lot, it was early; it could have been ugly if it happened 45 minute later.
So, has any of you experience this problem before? and what do you guys think might be the problem,? i called my ford dealer they told me to bring the car in. my car is a 1999 mustang gt, 5 speed bone stock except i replace the plastic intake manifold with the new aluminium crossoever one.

Mine had done that 3-4 times in the past 5 years, usually when making right turns. Never really figured it out.

However, my RPMs where dropping when I would take it out of gear and I found a small crack in my PCV hose and fixed that and the problem went away.

could be a number of things, fuel pump is a good candidate, maybe a faulty crank sensor, fuel pressure regulator.mine does something similar but it only does it when the car is low on gas around a quarter tank and it has a wierd starting problem after i fill up.i usually prime it a couple times and it works better.idk, odd problem.

+1 on vac hoses, mine would do this after WOT runs or slowing down to exit the freeway, the rpms would just fall and fall and fall til it died lol i figured it was a vac leak cuz i tightened all my hoses and it never happened again  does the CEL turn off when u restart it??
