What do you guys think about this car?

Looks like a decent deal! Check the usual stuff- evidence of body repairs, rust under the carpets and dash that could indicate a flood, and drive it for awhile with the engine warmed up to see if there are any signs of that pesky blown head gasket. If it's clean, it sounds like a heck of a deal for a car that has plenty of life left in it. Are you looking for a commuter or are you going to start building it?

ditch your lumbering V8 and get a peppy V6 for your commute.

Uhh, yeah.... :nice:

I think the price is a little high for a V6 car with that mileage; maybe actually seeing the car would help though. Being a manual, you gotta figure that's gonna need some maintenance if it hasn't had much yet.

LOL...I noticed that too. The funny thing is commuting isn't too bad in a V8; it's the city driving that sucks...gas.

i disagree. my stock 99 GT vert gets worse mileage than my procharged 3.73 geared 98 3.8 and can't run with the 3.8. i drive 60 miles one way to work.

the GT gets at best 270 miles combined/tank. my procharged 98 at best gets 330miles/tank

The best I ever got was 30 mpg on an all-highway trip, so since the Mustangs have a tank just over 15 gallons, it's possible to get up to 450 miles on a tank.. if you have the perfect conditions. In the real world, if you drive mostly highway, you should have no trouble getting 330 miles per tank or more.

450? That must have been mostly downhill driving!

Actually it was downhill all the way, with the wind at my back, and I was in neutral most of the way. It was awesome. Oh and there was no other traffic, especially big logging trucks (yeah Oregon!) to pass. :bs:

Actually I was saying that if you found the perfect drive, it may be possible to squeeze 450 miles out of a tank of gas. But I never have.

I hear ya. Yeah...that would be the perfect drive to get 450 miles...would be nice.

You all get too damn defensive.:notnice:

Hey, that's :notnice: . Not all of us are defensive.

330 miles a tank for a non-split port Six with a supercharger and 3.73s isnt' too bad. I get about 360 a tank on my mostly stock '01.

I've been wondering about putting in 3.73s, and I've been thinking about the mileage. I think I'll go ahead and do it.

Today, a Prius hung with me off the line at a light. True- I wasn't really trying, but still... :nonono:

I'll be really interested in hearing what you think if you get the 3.73s, I have been thinking of doing that, along with T-lock for the rear. No more one wheel squeals.

ok yesterday a grand dam gt hit the light with me i blew his ass off the rode until i cut off at about 115, this really pissed me off bczu i just got my stang and hand no idea it had a governor, i have a 1995 v6 standard trans, with small mods so far, do u think if i got a performance chip it would take the governor out?
