Man i am buggin out! I have just read the disturbing thread by Beefcake ( http://www.corral.net/forums/showthread.php?t=167953 ). I really wanted to put L/T on my ride but after reading that i don't think its worth my motor. I was wondering has this prob occured with shortys, and how much h/p difference is between the shortys vs L/T? If i do go with L/T i will prob discontiue all the EGR stuff, and doing so how will it effect my motor?

I DONT HAVE ANY PROBLEM WITH my long tubes. only thing is i cant drop the car as low as i wanted because they hang so low. i guess just dont buy crappy headers. i have slp they have been good.

Do NOT waste your time with shorty's. They have been proven time and time again to not be worth the money and time. The install is still a pain as LT's and the gains aren't even close. The LT's make more power throughout the powerband. Sorry 600-800 bucks for 5-8 rwhp is not beneficial unless you like dropping coin.

I actually saw great gains with my JBA shortys.

U.M.

Run #1 was CAI / catted X-pipe / Cat-back

Run #2 shows my gains after installing the JBA shortys. 13 RWHP & 31 RWTQ. *Note* I had the car re-tuned to take full advantage of the headers at the time of this pull.

Run #3 is the addition of a 2.93 pulley and a C&L intake tube.

Don't buy MAC L/T's. I have had my BBK's on my 96 Cobra for 24,000 miles (7 years) No oil burning, no problem, great ground clearance. Even if I lowered it, I would still have ground clearance. I didn't get my car dynoed before and after the L/T's, just after the blower, so I don't know of any gains, but I was running 4-5 tenths faster at the drag strip then all the stock Cobras my year.

svt32dohc: you run bbk shorties or long tube?

uncle meat: any advantages, performance or install, with your JBA over the bbk? ps gotta keep it street legal in NC :notnice:

what should i expect install in $$ or hours of labor?

You can expect most shops to charge anywhere from 350-600 or so in labor. I paid 350 to have my long tubes installed. Keep in mine shorty's are just as much a pita to install as long tubes, so you really are only saving money on the cost of the headers. To many including myself, it is not worth it.
