Does anyone have any pics of our cars painted in Flat Black?

FLAT looks terrible. I mean, who would want their car looking all crappy and blotchy like an old BBQ grill? Satin looks good if done well and accented right. I saw a Ferrari once that was satin black with 3-piece machined lip/bronze colored wheels that looks awesome.

Brings up a good point about flat vs. satin.

Satin is really what most will think of when talking about flat...they just mean non-gloss IMHO. The Benz on the first page looks more satin than flat to me...and either will take just as much skill and quality work to look non-poop-ish or blotchy.

yet another angle of discussion

Very true...the cars we are looking at are Satin. Satin is not as dry looking. And I like ur Saleen's BSapph. They look awesome bro. Very clean. As of two weeks recently I put on some silver saleen's on my ride :OT: . They look sooo sweet when they are clean. Even look better than chrome IMHO. And chrome, believe me I have had some chrome saleen's, and I hated polishing them. But yeah I don't think the satin black with some silver saleen's would look half bad. Okay now who has the guts to do it for reals now. U can prove it or disprove it. I would do it, but had the car painted black 6 months ago. :) My car would hate me if I did that to her now.

Flats/satins actually take MORE skill than glosses. If you have any type of flaw in a satin, you can't just wet sand it and rub it out. You have to wet sand it and re-shoot the clear. Grrrr.

im going to do it if i cant find a black 94-95 cobra

Those slr mclarens are niiiiiiice.

I remember being downtown (charleston, sc) and walking down the street on a friday night...and heard a loud ass car. I looked and saw an 03-04 cobra...and then right beside it was the mclaren. Then I kept walking down the street and saw the car parked and had to gawk over it haha. I talked to the owner too, he was pretty cool. Definitely one of the nicest cars I've seen going down the street. It was a black one..not the flat/charcoal color but a deep, glossy black.

what color was the 03-04, i know quite a few of them around town

here is one i found on sn95forums

It does not look too bad, the location kinda makes it look trashy...put some anthricite(sp?) or simply other black rims on it, it does need something though the stock gt bumper is just not cutting it.

I think it would look totaly ****** with gloss black from the body line up...Take the last two pics and you can really see the potential.

I think an anthricite or black rim with narrow spokes like the ultra lights or something...if one could find some old BBK plamas they would look cool too. They would have to be 18's or 18 in front and 19 in rear though the black will make them look smaller.
