Ok, here's the deal. I'm in Iraq and ordering my stang thru the exchange and I have a question about the interior colors/packages. On the Ford site http://www.fordvehicles.com/cars/mustang/index.asp interior pic 2 is exactly what I what. Can somwone tell me what color that is, pretty sure it the Charcoal or whatever they are calling black, but what to verify. Also those black door panel inserts are part of a package, correct? What package does that interior have? Im sorry if these questions sound suipid but it's not like I can just go to a dealership and look at the cars! TIA

A black interior is charcoal. Whether you order cloth or leather, every part of the interior will be charcoal (even those door panel inserts). If you upgrade to the interior upgrade package (you will want it if you don't) you get your choice of a satin or dark aluminum dash panel.. the latter is like a woven design..

The IUP also comes with silver vent flaps, a silver shifter for automatics, silver door handles, and silver steering wheel spokes. For the $400 or so that it costs, get it.. It makes a huge difference.

If you order the "red" interior (accent package), you are basically getting a charcoal interior with red seats, floormats, and door panel inserts..

If you go charcoal, everything is charcoal.

I would post all of the pics, but it's probably easier to just look at this website:
http://bradbarnett.net/mustangs/timeline/05/index.htm

Also, check out cars for sale on eBay for actual pictures.. The pictures on Ford's website suck when it comes to what the colors actually look like..

Be safe over there. :flag:

Not the best picture, but a somewhat better angle. Mine is the '06 GT with IUP in charcoal leather and I have the brushed aluminum dash panel.
(I added the floor mats myself from Auto Zone)

What kind of price are they quoting you through the exchange? The reason I ask is when I priced out a 2006 GT conv over there (both at Taji and the Camp Victory exchanges) the reps there were adding some fees on to the invoice price that drove it up to where it was about halfway between invoice and MSRP. There was a $1012 markup charge, a $625 inland delivery charge, a $250 Delivery Point Processing charge, a $302 Processing Fee, and a $453 marketing fee. When I saw those fees, it turned me off to the point that I decided not to do business with the exchange. I came home in March 06 and ordered an 07 GT Conv in July 06 at invoice.
Just my $.02.
And by the way, thank you very much for your service and sacrifice.

They quoted me $24,622 for an '08 GT premuim with 3.55's and power conveniece group. They don't have all those charges on my quote, probably because people like you didn't fall for it! They charge one extra fee for some ****, but it was only like $199 or something like that. They tried to stick an extra warrenty on it but I had them take it off. Off topic, I'm guessing your stationed to Lejuene? I was at Cherry Point for 2 1/2 years.

Thanks for all the info guys, I really appreciate it:nice:

Yes I am at Lejeune. I'll be retiring later this spring after almost 30 years and two tours in Iraq.
When I got home the local Ford store in Jacksonville ordered me a built to order new GT Conv at factory invoice. If you're a Navy Federal Credit Union member, they will provide you a person at a local dealership (closest one here is in Morehead City) and they will quote you a pre-negotiated price. I believe it was $500 over invoice when I talked to them. I used it as leverage against the local store. Looking back I probably could have pushed them lower than invoice but I was happy with the deal that I got.
