Im currently running 255/45 tires all the way around, but im having a problem with my front tires. I was under the mustang the other day and i noticed the inside of the tire is rubbing on the pavement . When i took it to had it aligned about a year ago, the mechanic told me he couldt not get it totally aligned for some reason.

The tire seems to be slightly toed in (\) . The tire is worn on the inner part of the tire all the way down to the steel braid. Can a caster camber kit fix this problem? or is there something else i should look at?

im trying to get a picture of the tire, the car stays at my dads house so ill try to get him to take some pictures.

Any help is appreciated

C/C plates should fix it, You may also want to get a bump steer kit since your going to need an alignement.:nice:

Do your tires look like this.

It handled great, funny thing was the inside of the tread was worn the sdame as the outside.

I have had cars come through my shop that I suspected of having excessive negative camber, put them on the alignment machine after replacing the tires and the alignment came up all in spec. Are your tires plus sized, little wider than stock or anything? What brand tires? Just tossing out some random questions here.

And what exactly are "Camber Bolts" and how do they work?

Exactly like they sound. They are eccentric bolts that allow adjustment for Camber at the spindle. Napa carries them for like 10 bux and have them in stock for the mustang. You just put it in in place of the upper strut bolt and turn to direction you are adjusting camber and tighten back down. That easy The ones I got allow adjustment for 1 3/4 of a degree +/-

In my experience, toe out will cause the wear you describe. Y
ou can check this on a flat concret pad. Take a straight edge and place it vertically against the the front tire's side wall, just outside the rim. Mark the floor where the straight edge lands. Do the same on the tire's rearward side wall. Contact the front and rear marks with lines for each tire. Move the car out and measure distance between the two lines. The tow-in will be the variance distance with a space of about 27inches.

In the end what you ultimately have to do is replace those tires and then get another alignment becasue you cant do an alignment with junk tires. And go somewhere where theyll actually DO the alignment. Im always amazed at how many people on here bring their cars to places that screw around on it for God knows how long, then give it back saying they couldnt get the job done. At my place, the car wont leave until the job is finished. I hope you didnt pay for a whole alignment when by their own admission they couldnt finish the job... And people say the dealerships are crooked...

It hurts. I just had to replace two front tires due to a bad alignment. They had set toe-out and the tires were ruined on the inside. I set by own toe-in and things are running smooth now.

I tested the ball joints and they seem a little sloppy, going to replace those and hopefully she will be good to go.

I also noticed that one of my sway bar brackets is busted, Where can i find a new one of these?
