I did a lot of research on 03 Cobra bumpers a few months ago through a few different forums. I decided to go ahead and purchase an ebay bumper from Prestige. Everyone seemed to have really nice things to say about them. Of course, I had to be the one with the horrible experience. I ordered the bumper on the 30th of January. After 10+ e-mails and 3 phone calls i finally got my bumper today. They guaranteed 5-10 business days before shipping, but it took mine 18 or 19 business days.

The quality of the actual bumper is pretty nice, but I am not sure about the paint job. The paint looks good, but when I rub my hand over it....it kind of feels like sand paper. Will that feeling go away after I wax it? There is also a scuff mark near the fog light that looks like they just painted over it. :notnice: Is this the quality I should of expected for a painted bumper under $400? I am hesitant to return for repairs do to the month wait time to get the item:mad:

looks like it was painted in a dusty environment. It wouldn't hurt to email them and at least ask if this is normal quality control or if they would agree to getting it fixed.

Sorry man, but that looks like crap...I would send it back. To be honest though, it sounds like u get what you pay for because $400 is cheap for a bumper & paint. It would cost you at least $400 for a body shop to do a quality paint job on a bumper & thats not including the price of the bumper itself....

I would definitely bite the bullet & send it back...

eww certifit parts are junk, thin metals.. they ding so easy.. a buddy of mine put all new metal on his 85 chevy 2500 and had it painted, it was all wrinkled and UGLY looking..

but the truck ended up being faster because of the weight loss!!

but it looks like butt.. yay

I would send them the pictures and ask for a partial refund, then have it repainted by a reputable body shop. The money it would cost to ship back and forth would just be a waste.
I would do that....
And I have a Certifit close to me as well. I would have to say they are really cheap and yes there is a reason for that. Their parts are thin, and aren't always the best thing, but for me.. it works. I havent had any real problems with them, and when your on a buget, its your favorite store lol...

That is crap and has to be re-done. Either send it back or get some cash to get it done locally.

Give them a link to this thread too. They'll see that every one of their potential customers here on stangnet agrees that its totally unacceptable to leave blems like that in the paint.

I was considering buying an 03 bumper myself, but your experience is making me think twice.

Keep us posted.

I sent them an e-mail informing them how upset I am with this bumper. With their track record it will probably take two more e-mails and a phone call to get a reply.

I am not too worried about shipping costs because I work for Fedex and get 75% discount. I will probably just have one of the drivers come pick it up, and mark it "return to sender" so there will be no cost.

I will keep you guys updated, but as of right now I would not buy anything from them again.:nonono:

75% discount eh....... i have always liked you and think it is a travesty what they are doing to you. If you need me to give them a call as well I will. only because your mustang is my favorite. (pretty thick uh?)
