think it would be worth it for me to get some twisted wedges?

alright i have been using thumper heads and had my engine apart replacing head gaskets. i had a friend of mine do some work on my heads, put bigger valves in and new springs, all the good stuff.

well turned out he put the wrong length valves in a it threw my rocker arm geometry off. so instead of hacking it all up and stuff. i pulled the heads back off and had a different guy FIX the heads by getting the right valves.

sp pretty much i have alot more money in these heads that i would like.
since they are off i have considered getting a nice alum head. i think the TW heads would be the best bang for buck. has the big 2.02 valve but will clear stock pistons etc etc and they flow excellent. like around 250ish IIRC while my thumper may flow 220-230 i duno for sure.

i am debating selling the thumpers, they are great heads and made good power, but i have the bug and am looking for MORE lol.

i have rockers and brand new HGs that i could sell with them as a package deal.

i duno if i want to sell them or not.
do you guys think with the blower on my car i will pick up all that much with the 20-30 CFM gain in the heads??? enough to justify spending 700 extra dollars. or so( depending how much i get out of my current heads)

You will gain more with the tfs heads, when considering forced induction, you dont go by flow numbers.

Alot are using tfs heads, with a simple over the shelf cam and a common intake, with supporting hardware, and turning up the boost, putting down around 500 to the tires.

i have an F-cam and a typhoon intake. but i have a custom sheet metal upper plenum i made for the car i plan to run sometime.

i think i might want to get some. i am tired of dinking around with stock heads. they work good and thumper goes excellent work but i i want more power. the car ran really fast before but i would like to get a big gain after all the crap i have dealt with.

I would think you'd pick up some power for sure….not only from the added flow from the heads, but the extra timing you'll be able to run by switching to aluminum. I myself am running 24* advance safely with 8psi of boost…and she runs like a champ. Keep in mind too, unlike the thumpers you'll have a head that has the capability of being ported to flow some serious air. The decision was easy for me…as I believe them to be the last set of heads I'll buy for the old gal.

I may have mentioned this to you before….but I'm not a big fan of sheet metal upper intakes for lower rpm combo's. Yes, they look better and give straight access to the valve covers…but from what I've seen with others combos, unless your turning some serious RPM it can be a huge detriment to power production. Just some food for thought.

yeah i know what you mean. but i like to make things so i thought i would give it shot. i am going to try and get the car driving and tuned with my tweecer with the typhoon i have, so i can establish a baseline.
then swap on the fabricated upper. and note the changes, i may even do it at the track. i am not expecting any real gains from it. so if it hurts my performance i will swap it back out. i think it would be cool to expierence and note the changes first hand. as well all know nothing beats expierence.

and you guys got me REALLY wanting some TFS heads. i cant stand it lol

would you guys reccomend the o-ring heads and run an o-ring gasket. or do i want to run the standard set so my headgasket would act a cushion and blow in case things get bad?

and would the standard spring set work ok. they say its good to .540 lift but should i get the better springs since i have a blower?

I think the extra coin for the better springs is worth it. I have the heads with the .600" springs and even though I run the stage 1 cam I know I have enough spring and a little peace of mind to go with it. I really like my heads and recommend them to anybody. Only wish I would have known they were going to offer CNC ported heads I would have waited. I cant comment on the o-ring setup as mine are not o-ringed.

check out patroit heads. they are likw $400 cheaper. dont let anybody on here scare you away from looking at them. i would highly consider thoes.

i dont want them, i had a bad expierence with them when i tried to buy a set of theirs a while back.

i got to thinking again. i dont know if i really want to fork over the cash for heads now, it ran great before. and i dont want to start making so much power that i start blowing t5s and breaking stuff. i like for the car to go fast but i aloso like to cruise in it on the weekends too.

all i am really wanting is 11.50s or so. ive done alot to this car and i am sort of getting to the point where i want to call it finished and paint the car and make it look pretty and maybe start another project. i have a 351 block i would like to start building up sometime in the future, i'd much rather spend more money then, i would like a N/A 408 with the GOOD parts to make some really nice power and find a fox to put in it.

plus i have a blower so if i need a power fix i have a bunch of blower pullies in the garage to make some more boost lol

i'll keep thinking about it but for now i am thinking i will stick with the thumpers
