Ok so I have a 66 mustang and am going to be running 17x8 2001-2004 bullitt rims all the way around with a 1" spacer. My question is what tires should I go with? I am not sure about size etc I need for clearance and also for a good look.

a 235 45 17 tire tucks in nicely without problems on alot of these cars. some people go all the way up to a 275, but a 235 generally fits very well if the car is lowered and you want them to tuck

235=the section width
45=the aspect ratio(sidewall height is 45% of the section width)

a 235/45-17 should fit real nice. in fact a 245/45-17 should also fit without problems.

it really depends on how you want the car to ride, and how well the rear axle is centered in the car. mine came out perfect, but I have heard stories of axles being off by .5" so you really need to check first hand. take a look at the tires that are on it now (probably 215 series width). get under the car and imagine about .5 inches added to each side. that is a 235 tire. Imagine .75 on each side. that is a 245 tire. tell us what kind of clearance you have. I minitubbed my car so I can run up to 275 without crazy issues, but some people already have (iz). I suspect a 275 can't be used and actually tuck the quarter panels :)

235/45/17's might fit in the front, but you better be willing to roll your wheel well lips and get an alignment with at least 2* negative camber.

I have 225/45/17 front and 245/45/17 rear on 17" X 8", w/ 4.75" backspacing. I could have gotten a 255/45/17 on the rear, but I don't think I could squeeze in a 235/40/17 in the front.

That -2 will certainly make it stick on the turns ;)

I ran 235 45 17 successfully on a 17x8 with -1 for year. I now run 245 40 17 on the front but I do have -2 plus on the camber. I also have never rolled the front fenders :D
