My girlfriend's family gives me a hard time about owning all Fords (they LOVE GM). But the other day I became the happiest man alive after my girlfriend said she wanted me to start looking for her an old Mustang. So now the search begins. I'm thinking 64 1/2 to 68 is what she's wanting. There's a 65 at a local car lot here that might have potential. All I know is, she wants to work on it with me, and it's gotta have a V-8. I'll keep you updated on our quest. She broke the news to her family at dinner the other night and I think they're pretty upset.

Looked at the '65 here in town yesterday. They want $7000 for it and act like it's the greatest thing since sliced bread. It's been rear-ended, the trunk won't close, the trunk pan has been replaced with a crappy bolted in sheet metal job, it needs 2 new bumpers, the interior needs work, and it looks like it's got bondo up the wazzoo. Plus......he said some lady and her daughter are getting financing for it...but if I hurry I can still get it :rlaugh:

So, the search continues. Wouldn't mind taking a trip a little south to get a rust free one. I don't mind spending the money, as long as it's not a junkpile that someone slaps a huge pricetag on.

Haven't had any luck finding anything yet. I've got some Ford guys looking for me though. Just found out a guy around here recently sold a 64 1/2 rust free convertible for $6500. Pretty upset about that but oh well. I wouldn't mind finding a 68 fastback for myself in the process but we'll see what happens (I'm running out of room to put my cars, haha). One more month and I'll be getting my Stangs out of storage. Plans are for me to drive the vert and her the fox body to shows, etc.
