You're not gonna touch an AWD car from a stop light to light with a powerful car like yours on regular street radials.

You need drag radials or slicks. All the suspension in the world won't help with all that power on regular radials from a light to light race.

Like Grn said, keeping up with an AWD vehicle would be difficult on those tires.

Regarding which parts work, would be a nice set of control arms, rear sway bar, sub frame connectors, coil over kit with adjustable struts/shocks.

Pretty common parts but I've discussed with him and people that know him about his work and his welding is top notch and better than most out there since he's a one man show.

From what I've researched no. The stocker will work just fine until sub 12 sec passes.

I do have to add though, that I didn't have my stocker for the first 2 years I had my car and I didn't notice it too much. But as soon as I installed one, the car felt 'tighter'. Don't know if it helped at the track or not, but it was a noticeable for the first couple of days.

Mike's dead on, with the hp/tq of your set-up on the street it is very tough with out a sticky tire. I ran MT Sportsman Pro on my old 11 sec NA set-up, they would get so sticky it would pick-up rocks once I spun them a little. A BFG or M/T Drag Radial would help as well. You also need to learn how to drive the combo, I raced for a few years on a normal BFG COMP TA 275/50/15 and that forced me to learn how to truly launch on a street tire, basically no launch but drive off the line and bring the power in smooth, learn where and how much you can bring it in.

Dave' stuff (TEAM Z MOTORSPORTS) is top notch I have the entire set-up on my drag car, the anti roll (It's an Anti-Roll not a SWAY BAR) is great at the track but not truly ideal for a daily driven street car unless you unhok the one link...However that kinda defeats the purpose. I been to Dave's shop and his work is second to none :nice:

Knowing the parts I am getting ready to install into your red rocket, your more into handling that light to light, the softer tire is an easy way to add a little extra.
Cold weather, cold surface and cold tires aren't ideal either, hell my Biggs and Straton lawn motor will break them loose in this weather.

just curious ... are toyo r-888s considered a drag radial?

Their site does not come out and say its a drag tire, Im pretty sure its just an autocross tire. Either way Ive never heard of anyone using Toyo DR's

Last time I checked STI's were low 13 high 12 second turbo cars geared for rally racing. I wouldn't call a STI weak.

While true not everyone is a magazine tester. AWD can hook hard out of the hole but not all of them know how to launch an AWD. There were plenty of AWD cars Ive seen at the track that were cutting 2.0+ 60ft times, some as high as 2.3 ON AWD!!!!! So much if it comes down to driver error or lack there of.
