Strange smoking problem

I just installed the trickflow track heat intake and moroso aluminum valve covers. The valve covers came with no holes for a PCV system so I had them drilled. There is no baffeling in the valve covers.

The only time it smokes is a small puff at start up and a lot after making a right turn. After a left turn or driving straight there is no smoke.

I have a catch can on the passenger side between the PCV valve and the intake.

Any ideas.

Also the shortblock is forged and only has 5000 mile on it. The heads were reconditioned 5000 miles ago and had new seal, springs and locks installed.

Yes the inside of the tips are black

I figured it out. The new moroso valve covers have no baffeling and was sucking oil right out through the pcv. I just deleted the PCV and its running fine now.

Deleting the PCV isn't necesarily the best idea though. See if you can fab some baffles to work in the valvecovers.

PCV is there for a reason. You will really start to contaminate your oil if you don't pull those vapors out of the crankcase.

Deleting the PCV replaces it with filter vents, or at least it should. The downside is you have to put up with some smell. I've had mine vented for years.

True, as long as something is venting. But he said his new valve covers had no provisions for PCV. Not sure if he vented or not.

He said he had hole drilled for them.

Yes I vented both sides. I have hose going to catchcans then to filters on both sides. It is venting fine and I have no smell inside the car.
