Looking at purchasing some UDP's, just wondering if anyone is using the Moto Blue's? I like the price and also that these come with a Billet Idler pulley.

Would like to hear your opinions, Moto Blue, Steeda, Roush, SLP, BBK, etc........

It's not that I don't trust your opinions, I just wanted to find out for myself why RPM Outlet has such bad customer service. So, I called them and told the guy on the phone that the Mustang Group is not happy with them and that their customer service sucked! This guy (Robert) was very polite, never got smart with me and told me why he thinks they are getting a bad reputation. He infomed me that the company started in 1996 and has grown much faster than expected, 40% each year, in the last few years. They are the #1 Procharger Dealer in the U.S., other brand names also, I just don't remeber these. "You don't get to be the #1 Dealer in the U.S. by having a bad reputation and bad customer service", was his comment. Because of their growth, they will be moving into their new larger facility next week. He also informed me that because they have grown so much, they have out-grown their customer service department. He said they didn't have enough manpower to answer all of the phone calls and customers calling only get busy signals and think they don't care (I tried to call them 4 times (busy signals), before I got thru). I asked if I were to place an order, how should it be placed, over the phone or on the internet. His suggestion was to place an order over the phone so that you could speak with a rep to make sure your order was right and that they had all the parts on-hand. I asked where they were located and he said in Houston, TX. Of course I can't go to their store to order something in person (to long of a Road-Trip), but perhaps some member from the Houston area can comment on their luck working with them.

So finally, I'm going to keep watching my post to see what others are saying to form a final opinion. I realize I could buy my items from someone else, but it's not just pulleys that I want to buy and all said I could save $70 buying from RPM vs. others out there.

Please post your opinions regarding this..

i have not personally ordered from RPMoutlet.com, this is because of what my friend went through with them on parts he ordered for his lighting. 2 orders through them and both times the incorrect equipment was sent. both times it was a big ordel to get the proper equipment to him. Sent an incorrect mass-air on the first order then told him that it was the correct one, although it was obvisouly not the correct one. I personally would never order from someone that you have to call 4-5 times just to get through to.

I am set on brenspeed.com until they do me wrong, ( if not from my local shop) I have been very pleased with them and i don't mind paying a little more for better service.

Just my 2-cents, i also debated a very long time on buying from rpmoutlet.com since their prices are very low.

I've ordered from them a couple of times over the past year and a half and my orders were always shipped fast and with no problems. Therefore, I've never dealt with customer service. That being said many stangnet members really don't seem to like RPM Outlet. I'm wondering how far back in the past the problems were?

As far as the moto blue stuff they are generally relabeled parts. For instance, most of the moto blue exhaust stuff is actually Pypes exhaust. So they are usually name brand parts. I wouldn't be surprised if the pullies were actually made by Powerbond or some other big company.

While I had them on the phone, I asked who made their pulleys and they told me they were made by ASP, whom is right next to their current facility (ASP also makes all of their Billet stuff). From my 84 - 93 GT 5.0 days, ASP Pulleys were good pulleys.

Believe what you want. Just trying to keep others from having a bad experience. Mine was a "good" one, but bad. I ordered the MotoBlue RS exhaust because I didn't have a lot of extra cash at the time. (I also didn't know about the troubles people have had with them). I got no shipping confirmation or anything. When the exhaust arrived, it was the Pypes Violators exhaust. I didn't complain because those were $50 more, and I absolutely love the sound of them. But I still won't do business with them again, because they did not inform me that they were sending something different, or give me an option. I've heard of this happening many times.

All you have to do is a quick google search to find out why we tell people to stay away from them.

You guys can chose to do business with whoever you want. But the reality is, this company has only a handful of good stories to go along with too many bad stories. I would not give my money to them, and I'm trying to avoid waking up and seeing a post on here "Bad experience from RPM Outlet". I'd rather see "Thanks American Muscle" or "Thanks Brenspeed!" or something like that. Do business with whom you want. It's your car and your money. But if you do business with RPM Outlet after seeing all the information I posted, you'll have to forgive me for saying "I told you so" when (not if) something goes wrong.

I have only ever used RPM Outlet once. For my Pypes offroad X pipe. I got all shipping info and it was here quick. But, I'm still a little worried about ever buying from them again because of all the problems everyone else has had.

Moto Blue underdrive pulleys

I have a set - still in the box (MTB-462330). Never installed. I ordered from RPM outlet a while back. I ordered on the internet and received in timely manner. I just never got around to install - willing to let them go...pm if anyone is interested.

Hey don't steal my rant! I warned people numerous times, sad to see others that just ignore or get caught unawares.

I talked to Robert at RPM back when I was having issues with my C&L kit. You can do a search and find my lengthly coverage of my dealings with RPM if you like but the short strokes..

- Ordered a C&L Street Kit. Supposedly in stock, turns out 3 weeks later after they had charged my credit card (so I assumed it shipped) I called and E-mailed over 3 days until they finally admitted that they hadn't shipped it yet and it was in fact drop shipped from C&L to me, they never carry them in stock.

- Got a C&L Racer kit. Called them up, oops, we'll send you the parts, just put a deposit on your visa so when we get the parts back we'll credit you.

- Got the C&L street tube, MAF and filter, oops they forgot to include 2 of the worm drive clamps and yeah they didn't include a prepaid return waybill to send the parts back. I call them 5 minutes after the item gets there (keep in mind this is 5 weeks from the day I ordered. They say OK, send back the other parts and let us know the shipping cost and we'll refund it. I go out and buy at my own expense the appropriate worm drive clamp from a local speed shop, something like $10-12 for that size I think.

- I send back all the errant parts as per their instructions. They recieve it and start to balk at giving me any credit for anything, shipping, deposit or otherwise. They also claim that they are going to deduct $18 for the missing worm drive clamps that THEY NEVER SENT! They say they have photo's of the parts in the box, I say prove it, over a week goes by and Robert suddenly isn't available anymore and nobody will talk to me about it.

- After trying to get through a couple days later as this mythical picture hasn't shown up I find out THEY CALL BLOCKED MY CELL PHONE. No word of a lie, I can connect through my work phone, at home and from my friends cell, but my Cell never gets through.

- I ended up going to Visa as my deposit for the parts return was on there, I honestly never noticed if the credit went back on, it was supposed to take 2-3 months for Visa to get my credit and to be honest so much money moves in and out of it and I was so busy it may not have ever came back, I should check. But the sucky thing here, I could only get back the $100 deposit, that's all Visa would go for. The $70 I spent on shipping the wrong parts back to them and the $10+ for the worm drive clamp and 6 weeks of my time were all lost. So any savings on the C&L buying through RPM were lost and then some.

I shop a lot on the internet, and these guys thus far are the only ones who have screwed me. For Mustang shops the companies I have had good dealings with are Shelby, CDC, American Muscle, Moss Mustang and WMS, I can vouch for all of them as a bunch of standup organizations. Shelby even shipped my hood pins via USPS when I requested it as UPS to Canada is terrible. The shipping cost half as much and they went out of their way to mail it for me.

STAY AWAY FROM RPM, IF YOU GET BURNT AND YOU HAVE READ THIS THEN YOU DESERVE EVERYTHING YOU GET!

Anyways I got the Steeda UDP last fall from WMS and love them. I wasn't able to get out to the last couple open drag nights to compare to before my car car revs faster and seems to accelerate a smidge more aggressively than before, if anything the smoother, faster reving engine was worth the small cost.

I ordered the non stainless pypes catback from them along with a hurst ss when I first got my mustang last fall. I got the tracking number kept tracking it the few days it took to come. So the day it was being dropped at my door only one of the two boxes came. I was like wtf I got JUSt the axle backs and shifter, the rest of the piping never came. so I pulled up on ups tracking and it said the second box came opened and with nothing inside and would be contacting the shipper. So I saw that and emailed right then and there, figuring they new of the problem. I never got a response, sent like three emails that whole week over and over. figuring theyd just send the rest of the catback out. So then finally got tired of waiting and started calling them. First few times got no answer and had to leave a messag i believe and they wouldnt call back. Finally got through to a person over a week later, and they had no clue or will willing to send the rest of the pipes i paid for to make my axlebacks i had a catback cuz they claimed they shipped it. So only way to resolve it was to fight the credit card for that extra $100 over the axlebacks that i paid, and that was the end of it.

I ordered some steeda springs from brenspeed over the internet and Brent himself called me a couple hours later informing me they were on backorder.

Another time I ordered a prochamber from them over the phone and they told me it would take a few days longer because it wasn't in stock.

That's what I call customer service, brenspeed is straight up with you.

Everything else I've ordered from them takes about 48 hours to arrive, same with americanmuscle.

I almost ordered som LT headers from RPM but THANK God the link didn't work! Ordered them from ninosport instead.:nice:

Since you asked for opinions... I have not used this company and I guess that is the point of my response. There is sufficient information on this board, and others, to suggest that my money is best spent elsewhere. These boards represent a pretty decent community of like minded folks and aside from the odd twit, the folks here are honest. The other peculiarity is that the Internet offers a chance for people to voice valid concerns and have an impact on companies that do not provide the service that is expected. The reasons why they believe they failed in meeting customer needs are moot. Who cares what they think. Is it fair? I won't comment on the fairness. It is what the consumer thinks or perceives (my perception is my reality). It is likely true that they failed to meet comsumer needs. The great thing about choice is that there are many other companies that have great customer service and that is where I will spend my money.

Everybody has an opinion and this is my two cents (or less)

Well said Harrison. I saw this thread this morning and it reminded me of one email exchange with someone there that threatened me with legal proceedings if I went and posted info on my situation online equating it to slander. I shut him up pretty quick with a "you can pound salt because I know what slander is and it's not slander when it's the truth and all I'm going to be posting is the facts". It was shortly after they blocked my cell phone. :p

Most definitely.

I have the MotoBlues UDP and they're great, I also purchased a few things from RPM outlet and received the order perfectly everytime, however I also applied for a dealership program with them and never really heard back from them about delaer pricing and what parts I get discount on......so I most likely will look elsewear in the future.

Well I did it, I ordered my Flowmaster Exhaust.

I decided not to order it from RPM. Instead I went with Brenspeed and all I can say is "PERFECT". Great knowledge, staff, communication, and shipping. I ordered my exhaust on Tuesday at noon and it arrived on Wednesday at 2 pm. I was so pleased that I sent them a Thank You note and told them they will be my 1st choice for my next purchases.
